Awhile back, the merits and demerits of the Las Vegas Regent Resort & Casino were a topic of discussion in this forum.
Well, tonight I visisted the Regent, just to have a bite to eat in their coffee shop. Anyway, I ordered a hamburger, which they call a "ground sirloin burger," and it cost $11.00. Yep, $11.00 for a burger. For that price, they have to give it a fancy name. The burger was good, but afterwards, when I suggested to the maitre d' that they add tofu burgers and wheatgrass juice to the menu, I was given a cold stare.
Feeling rejected by the maitre d,' I walked into the casino and right-away noticed that the roof was severely leaking. Again, I decided to offer constructive advice. I told the workers in the roped-off area around the leak that they should adopt the Zen philosophy toward leak. In other words, if it's raining, you can't fix the leak; and if it's not raining, you don't need to fix it. The workers all gave me dirty looks, and with my head between my legs, I quickly vacated the premises and headed home, intent upon re-reading Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People."
