  • Game Day Sportsbook...an early review

I recently went into Game Day Sportsbook after reading about them here and learning about some of their specials that appealed to me. We all know that I love deals so this is no surprise to most of you.

I remembered hearing about them and researching them about a year ago when some friends told me of the ultra-fast payouts they received from them. Their small limits for baseball at that time (500 on totals and 1000 for sides) precluded me from posting up with them at that time.

While researching them this time around for football, I learned they take 5 dimes on sides, 2 dimes on totals, which was acceptable for me. So I started my research by talking to some of my buds in the biz that own sportsbooks in their region, Curacao.

Now I'd like to elaborate on Curacao for a bit here. As much as and maybe even more so than Antigua (when Ms. McAllister was in charge), Curacao has become the premiere destination for sportsbooks in my mind with regard to safety of funds, transfers among books and all-around cooperation among them.

Leaders from such ultra-solid sportbooks such as Sports Market, Pinnacle, Royal and others meet to discuss issues that affect them all and it's my belief they would never stand still for any slow-pay/no-pay shenanigans by any books residing there casting a blemish on them all.

With that in mind, I went into Game Day and liked what I've experienced thus far very much. Their customer service was very friendly, their software very strong, but most impressive so far was a situation that came up when there was a problem with some wagers I had made.

I don't want to go into details about the problem, but it was handled very very courteously, very very professionally and a remedy was offered that was mutually agreeable to myself and to them.

Again, I won't go into details, but I know through experience a book of lesser quality would have handled it in a much less tactful and classy way and would have lost me as a client.

I give Game Day a clean bill of health and commend them for their small limits on baseball even though I wasn't able to utilize them. I would much rather a book take smaller limits which ensure the winners will get paid than get in over their head and run the risk of financial ruin (which many have done in the past).

The consensus among my friends in Curacao is that Game Day is a good solid book, much smaller than the previous behemoths I've mentioned, but good as gold for the limits they do take. The scuttlebutt among some of my fellow gamblers out there is that their bank wires are among the fastest they've seen from anyone.

Bottom line, a very good recommendation for the small to average player and some incentives that are among the best.

Boomer, we're the happy recipients of your community service (imposed on you as a penalty for your past ill deeds). Just kidding - I really do appreciate such feedback on sportsbooks.

Here's a question for you or other Curacao book operators: Do some/most of the books there have same-day transfer agreements that allow the player to make transfers between Curacao books? Is this a "less than an hour" process like it is at many Antigua books? Is there a fee charged (limiting the number of such transfers is probably a good idea to avoid abuse)?

If the answer to these questions are positive, it seems that this is a very important selling point for Curacao books in general.

Sports Market/Aces Gold, Pinnacle and Royal absolutely definitely yes, and absolutely definitely immediate when going TO Aces Gold/Sports Market.

I think I remember Pinnacle had to wait less than 24 hours, but they had to actually receive the check to credit your account per Max Cates there at Pinnacle.

My info there is about 3 to six months old and recent information tells me there is much much more cooperation going on there than there was even three months ago. I wouldn't be surprised if they were all transferring with one another shortly.

In fact, let's throw it out there, Books in Curacao, if you'd like more of our business, give us transfers among yourselves and please give us instant credit in our accounts.

One of the reasons I love Sports Market, Del Mar, Olympic, Looselines, Caribi and some others is they have "ledger balances" with one another. What it means to us, the gambler, is that our accounts are deducted and credited IMMEDIATELY upon request and stop the ludicrous flow of dollars and fees back and forth to our accounts at home.

It certainly benefits everyone involved and don't see any downside to books not doing this. It not only saves them fees but makes us feel more secure about our money and creates alot less hassle.

        Boomer,
Wassup? Back in action for football?
Can you get loaded quickly with GD? Does it ever time out during busy periods and not load at all or kick you out after 10 minutes or so?

Bucky, I haven't made bets at crunch time because they've got some sweet deals during other hours and that's when I put most of my bets in. From what I've seen so far thought their software is real real good. It does take a little getting used to like all software, but once you get used to it, it works great.

Yeah, I was losing my butt during baseball and quit the biz but got the bug back for football and am holding my own so far.

You won't have any issues at crunch time.

Great shop, and Blake runs it smoothly.

I have dealt with Sports-Market for awhile now and I have nothing but praise for them. They have outstanding clerks, excellent customer service and the bottom line is this:

              They pay!

              Solid book.

Phil, I suppose we're off topic here, but Canbet will also reimburse you any fees that your bank may charge for incoming wires. Just drop an e-mail to customer service.
