"Other Site" Sucks

you are correct to a degree. we all know there is no comparison to the quality or the traffic at the 2 sites. however, at some point there must be a response to even small players like the other site. no company big or small will allow total fabrications about their company to be posted on a non stop basis without a retalitory measure.
left unchecked, even sights like the one you are speaking of can grow like a cancer spewing out lies and innuendo and effect the reputation of a top sight. first time visitors get confused etc...
we will carefully measure our responses as to not give any weight to thses little sites but will not allow outright lies to be published without repercussion.

Brian - Godammit, I see your point but, dear god i wish you would let a sleeping dog lie. This is the best forum of it's kind on the net and there are people, sites, etc that are envious and will do ANYTHING to try to bring this site down while, in turn. hyping up their "site". Just go about your business and ignore all the shenanigans at the other sites......If those sites choose to battle BW, they will lose. With or without back and forth bantering. Much better to just sit back and watch them implode on their own.....Just my opinion.....

I see nothing wrong at all deleting the other sites names. If you ran this site it would be a smart decision to try to keep people from going to the other sites.

The other sites that have very few people involved want their sites name talked about any where they can get it. They are the ones that need the patrons.

And the other site does SUCK........

I don't participate in the mudslinging that occurs on the net. Matter of fact, I NEVER even visit other sites. Don't have the time, or desire. I have enough to do here.

Plenty of shots have been taken at me, my partners, and Bettorsworld in general. None of it bothers me. If it does, I forget about it by the next day anyways.

It goes back to the old saying, sticks and stones will break my bones, blah, blah, blah. Hey, if someone wants to say something about me, they can call me and tell me in person ,like a man, or better yet, IN PERSON. Anything short of that is cowardly, and not worth my time.

As for our policies, and intheknows comments, I recently asked someone, "if you owned a burger king, would you let Ronald Mcdonald stand in the lobby and hand out flyers? "

Television Networks refer to each other as " their friends at the other network".

Radio stations rarely if ever refer to each others call letters.

It goes on and on. Coke and Pepsi are the only ones that come to mind that use each others names.

Bottom line is, we spend a ton of money advertising Bettorsworld. We do it independently, on our own, with no extra help. There's simply no way we are going to allow anyone to come in our back door, and attempt to ride the wave. If they want to do that, they'll have to come in the front door, as many others have. All one needs to do, is take a look at our links section, or even some of the banners we fly on the site from time to time, to see that we are not against helping out the little guys. We have done this for sites very similar to ours, with the main difference being, they came in the front door.

Otherwise, the no soliciting rules are strctly enforced.


Like it or not, Bettorsworld created the format that exists today in the internet gaming world. Posting forums, good lists, bad lists, contests....hell, others don't even bother to change the names of their contests! They just use our names!

But that's all well and good. What's that saying? Imitation is the sincerest forum of flattery? Hey, all I can say is, it feels good to be an ORIGINATOR, and it never ends. We think of new ideas day and night, 24hrs a day. That's what we do best!

I'd prefer that we do our talking on the playing field. Traffic is up 40% from last year. We've got tons of great contests ready to start. We've got a great line up of writers, handicappers. We've got the UHC just about to kick off, and we even have a few surprises coming up in the very near future.

Put a solid product out there, and the people will support it. It's that simple.Those that can't keep up, will stand over in the corner and jump up and down, hoping someone will notice them.

Well, I gotta run. It's football season. I have contests to help run, players to call, articles to put up..........let em talk!!!! In one ear, out the other, or in this case, in one eye, out the other.
