  • Sportingbet's faulty deposit system

I don't know if anyone has been having similar problems, but I have been unable to make a deposit with Sportingbet for quite some time now.

My most recent attempt was today, and the debit card deposit was rejected (once again). The real funny thing is that I have more than enough money in my account, and that even after this rejection I have been able to transfer thousands in and out to other sportsbooks without any trouble. So why is Sportingbet's system totally unreliable?

The worst thing is the customer service though, which has been totally unhelpful and unable to do anything. When I hear the silly response "call the issuing bank" then it insults my intelligence. It is a useless piece of "advice" which does not do anything; all the bank will say is "everything seems fine, sir."

I have had this occasional problem with other books, and what needs to be done is the retailer needs to do a manual authorisation over the phone. Was Sportingbet willing to do this simple and necessary step? NO. Did every single other bookmaker do this when need be? YES.

    Draw your own conclusions...

Cons, probably totally unrelated, but my Switch debit card was rejected when trying to deposit funds with Totalbet. When I changed the issue number from "09" to "9" it worked fine

Sounds like a similar software glitch

Stanley, does your debit card have two digits for the issue number? Mine only has one, so there is probably something else wrong here.

I will contact them on my return to the UK in October. Until then I'll give it one more try, and one more phone call. But if I can't use the online system on a continual basis then the whole thing will stop making sense. I guess I'll just have to wait and see, though I know what the problem is. They simply need to do a manual authorisation. After that it will work online until the bank once again needs the extra verification.
