Have to agree on that ... very impressive indeed.

Olympic - new heavy juice policy?

PC, what is the deal with soccer totals? I think Olympic's policy is misleading to say the least. Setting the line at 3 is something that will keep me away from your book as long as you continue this policy. the standard is always 2.5, and running in at 3 not only makes room for a push (and we're talking about a lot of room here), but it also destroys the structure of the soccer totals overall.
Is this going to stay like that, or are you going to implement the normal 2.5 on all games?

Cons,
Problem with the 'nothing but 2.5' policy is if you want line balance, so to speak.
For example, Belgium, if you do those, do you want 2.5s and the over always a heavy favorite? As scoring well over 3 goals a game in this league, for example.
You would have something like the situation of -2.5 -160 O
-2.5 +120 U
or something like that on your average game
is that more attractive to you? than -3 and an evenish line? On 3 I would guess it would push around 1/6th of the time
More problematic for the push would be a 2, in the French 2nd division which would be considerably higher. More like 1/4 or 3/10 or so.
However, you are not losing in that situation, so is that a problem, when you get to have totals?
Or the Constellaciano-Vallecano game in the UEFA, if I was to put a total on that game, would have been around the 8-9-10 mark, -2.5 O -10000 or whatever would have been a bit pointless.
Presumably you are happy to back a 0 Asian Line, where you have a similar chance of a push type situation happening? If not being charged for the push, doesn't seem to matter to me?

AV, I simply think that the totals should be based around the 2.5 goal mark. I only deal with books which use this standard, and to be honest the 3-goal total is a joke. I have respect for Olympic in various other departments, but as far as the totals are concerned I remain a critic.

Cons,
I don't understand your point here at all. First of all, soccer O/U lines are still so uncommon that I would hesitate to call anything a "standard" at this point. Secondly, from a bettors point of view, it is in your interest to have a bet offer that has a push possibility as a result ... the higher the probability you have of hitting it, the lower the chance that the players will get "juiced" (becuase the bookmaker is returning 100% of all bets he took in)
So actually, yes, I would like to eliminate the whole numbers for O/U betting and I believe it will be to your disadvantage for me to do so.

I see your point. Playing the under must be safer as a result of this, though you are paying a higher price. As far as the over goes, you get a better line but you need 4 goals to turn a profit. 3 goals and you get nothing. I see your point guys - you give something and you get something.
AV, Asian soccer lines are a joke because they should all be half-goal lines

-- exactly. If you struggle to find them, not exactly standard.

-- Cons! Now look what you have done. Sheesh. This should be reasonably obvious? If you bet and get your money back, not a big deal at all.

-- Nah, don't listen to Cons, too much being England maybe does funny things to you

2.5 goals is standard by the way, believe it or not. If I was to bet the over I surely wouldn'd be betting over 3... I would find a standard 2.5 line and hit that instead, taking the steeper line.
I don't consider betting and getting your money back (with no profit) a good deal of any kind. I can't call it a deal when a game ending on 3 goals does me no good, whereas a 2.5 line would have turned me a nice profit.
Actually, English totals are the worst of all, with many books using the 0-1/2-3/4+ line, which is annoying to say the least. Whatever you do PC, don't head in that direction!
AV, I was only kidding on the Asian lines man
