  • Opinion about problem w/MILLENNIUM

    Hey all!

I had an unfortunate incident with MILLENNIUM a couple weeks ago and I wanted to hear everyone's take on the matter.

Basically, I wanted action on a Red Sox - A's game on a Saturday evening, 9:05pm game time. I wanted the A's side - action.

I called the betting line(s) 5 times between 8:45 and 9:10 to place the wager and the phone kept ringing and ringing and ringing. I had absolutely no idea what was going on. I called two different lines with no answer.

So I missed out on the game for an amount equivalent to my normal play. I was busy for awhile afterwards, so I ended up calling them back around 10:30 to find out what the heck was going on.

The betting line supervisor said that the company was in the middle of shooting a television commercial and that they had to take away about 180 clerks off the floor. He apologized and offered me a free play, which was equivalent to 10% of my normal play on any game.

    This was a joke!!!

I then called customer service the next day to speak to a manager about this problem. He told me that there was NO COMMERCIAL being shot and the reason this problem occurred was because MILLENNIUM was in the middle of moving their operation around.

So at this point, I was thoroughly confused. I told him that the lousy free play was unacceptable, as I basically got screwed out of a win, and thus, screwed out of $$$. I was not looking for them to put that lost revenue back in my account, so I offered them a fair settlement.

I simply asked for an additional 10% tacked on to my next re-load. I thought this was fair, as did he, but he said he needed to run it past the "BOSS" to see if this was acceptable. He came back and said that nothing further could be done and that they stand behind the initial free play.

I opened an acct. with them only 2.5 weeks before this problem occurred. I found this to be a real slap in the face, considering I had already rolled over my balance 4x.

I just wanted to hear your opinions in this matter. I understand that "things" happen, but I am really disappointed in their resolution of this matter. I got two different stories from two managers during my first month with them, so even if I give them the benefit of the doubt, how can I be sure this won't happen to someone again?

Look forward to your input in this matter...thanks!

A good example as to why everyone should have at least two outs. Phones go out, hurricanes blow in, computers are computers, and on and on. And of course when you are unsuccessful getting your play in with the one out, its ALWAYS a winner.

      A. Was their online system down as well?

      B. Is this your only out?

Their excuse is pretty flimsy but your only recourse is to have a backup out or two to go to because if it happened once it could happen again. But , I don't think it is right to expect them to fork over a perk equal to the amount you would have won on the game.

You should have had a second out. Millenium owes you nothing. You have only yourself to blame!!!!

          hcunited,

Suppose the bet you wanted to make had lost.
Which of the following 3 choices would best
          describes your actions:

          1. You would insist that Millennium deduct
from your account the amount you would
have bet since you would have lost this
amount had they taken your bet.

          2. You would insist that Millennium deduct
10% from your account as a fair
settlement for not having taken your
          losing bet.

          3. You would not offer Millennium anything
and be thankful that Millennium did not
          take your bet.

Some people can't afford more than one out so you can't blame that on them. If this was his only out he should take his money out and post somewhere else. What a lame excuse. Who the hell moves the office around when there is a game going off. I guess only Millenium.

For those of you who suggested having at least another out, you are 100% right and this situation could have been avoided on my end if I did have a second out.

Regardless though...their excuses are ridiculous. Their actions after the fact were less than acceptable.

I was a big player with them, but I have taken most of my bankroll out now.

I will definitely post up with another BB endorsed book instead.

                Thanks for the input...greatly appreciated

HC, there's no way that they can make up for your loss now.

But what happened was a really raw deal for you, and the sportsbook should be ashamed of such an unprofessional way to operate a business.

I'm shocked they offered you anything. That's a real gift on their part, because they really don't owe you anything. "Glitches" happen, whatever the reasomn, and not being able to put in a bet sometimes happens as a result, but it's ridiculous to say they "owe you" for it. Like was pointed out, would you owe them and pay them if it lost? Take the 10% free play, and count your lucky stars that you are playing with a place as generous and a place that goes "beyond" what's expected as Millennium did in this case.
