For Czech hockey I have no direct evidence but you can pretty much make up your mind from the following: all 3 betting shops dropped their limits on both Czech and Slovak hockey drastically (about 80-90%) a year or 2 ago and made them minimum trebles (they take solos on almost everything else) The average player can't make much more than a few hundred dollars a month (tickets to the games are less than a dollar) so the incentive is certainly there.

Here is something interesting: the shops also made minimum trebles for any tennis match involving a Czech player! (I don't think the limits were dropped though)

      Interesting PC, thanks.

As far as Slovakian goes, you could bet on that with Poland bookmakers etc., and did seem to be some odd draws (which may pay highly?), but admittedly have not delved into it far (Czech either, really, but it did not seem to be too 'strange' - admittedly only 1 season though.)

Here we have very different opinions.

-- This can't hurt, however it is not humanly possible. You can't watch all the baseball games, NHL games, soccer games, etc. Unless you can speedwatch videos and have no other life - lots of soccer games are not even televised!

And by following I mainly mean watching as many related events as possible. I don't believe that by just analyzing statistics I can beat the odds.

-- Well, we differe here, but it is also different for different sports/events.

Hence it doesn't make any difference for me how many games there are in Norwegian 2nd division. Have you actually ever seen at least a game in Norwegian 2nd division or Hungarian 1st? It is not hard to get all the statistics for those divisions, but the oddsmakers have the same material.

-- Sure, they do, but how are they using them? Doesn't mean I am using them, or using them the same way, by any means - and again, they are supposedly setting lines for balancing the action, not to predict games?

It is a great honer for the Ukrainian League to be compared to the Premier League even in terms of fixed games. But come on, are you serious?

-- Well, I am serious in that it seems lots of soccer has problems with corruption and match fixing - France, Belgium, England, wherever.......

On the other hand, propositions like " a team to score" don't require much of additional work from me and usually odds varies significantly for such options in different books. Hence I am interested.

-- Ok - but a nice coup for fixing a match, take both teams not to score, the under, the draw and 0-0 correct result

All above was said from the punter's point of view. As a bookmaker I tend to agree with what you said about "post a line and people will bet it, doesn't matter what events are involved".

        -- Yeah.

            AV2,

You know what? I have seen several games in Norwegian Elitte (or how did you spell it?) division. Maybe not all 90 minutes, was just walking around a TV set when the game was on. All I know is the totals are always 3.5 for Norwegian games.

I am probably wrong stating that it is impossible to beat the odds not watching the games. Maybe it is possible, but it is not my way.

It is funny about Fonbet and Irish soccer. And I saw Intertops will offer Israelian soccer and some Eastern Europe Leagues.

I wonder how high the limits are going to be.

                how high limits would be?

The usual I guess for them, would be a few hundred? Did not look, as don't care.

Yeah, totals would have to be higher for Norway, 2.5 O -165 not going to cut it, as we had discussed earlier

If you are looking at a grind out type of profit, then having to watch games would be a serious disadvantage to potential profit?

If you are the bet rarely but bet heaps type, a different story indeed.

Starnet did Israeli soccer a couple of years ago

A bit harder now thoug has the league has been cut from 16-14-12 teams due to non competitiveness.

I did see that Paddy Power did futures for the Irish soccer league, not unsurprisingly, have not checked to see if they or other Irish bookmakers do games, will have to have a look
