Reality, I checked out the sample tout sheet, and it was just like the other rags on the market. Also, the guy hasn't done his homework regarding teasers. Now does that mean his trends aren't successful? Well, since I consider myself an open-minded guy, I'm, well, open to the possibility of him being a guru in this area. And, since the NFL season is upon us, and since it is the number one sport for betting, and since most players lose betting it, it would only be fitting that you or someone else present even ONE NFL angle--other than Monday Night ones--by Davler or anyone else, that hits a high winning percentage and involves a statistically significant number of games. And since, no one has to worry about the super-solid NFL numbers being ruined by sharing knowledge, no one should object to enlightening us.

Years ago, I read all of the so-called gurus, including--Mike Lee, Barbara Nathan, Ernie Kaufman, and, of course, the "legendary" Jack Painter ( J.R. Miller's handicapping guru). And, guess what, NONE of their "great" angles (or trends)consistently wins. Mort Olshan of Gold Sheet came to the same conclusion that I did regarding the NFL: trend betting does not win.

Reality, what's amazing to me is that you aren't a multi-millionaire. First, you claimed to have made far more money scalping baseball in the "good old days" than I currently do in this modern age of clone joints, which you helped create. Second, if you were good at handicapping NBA totals, and in conjunction with Davler's angles were hitting 65% winners, why would you have ever quit? If you'd bet on your NBA totals using a Kelly, starting with just a dime a game, you'd be a multi-millionaire by now and have a huge effect on the line movement of NBA totals.

Why doesn't Mr. Davler just use his own information to become a Bill Gates clone? Same question for touts? If trends and touts don't work is the converse of the equation effective? Or what if we interview beer belly Joe Loser at the El Cortez - write down his picks (buck a winner!) and go against them.

Bucky, I think it is asking a bit much to expect Davler or any other tout to bet his own plays and pocket 60-billion dollars. However, it is not beyond probability for a tout, or player, who can really consistently hit 65% winners to eventually make Billy Walter or Poker Player-type money. In other words, if REALITY had starting betting Davler's "consistent 65% winners," say five years ago, and started betting the plays, using a Kelly money-management system, for a mere dime on each play, he would now be worth untold millions of dollars and would be now betting well over a hundred dimes per game. But, as REALITY has proven, if you eat at expensive restaurants, pick up the checks, and leave generous tips, even millions of dollars can disappear fast.

The problem, of course, with trends, it that once they become a "trend", the value is usually gone.

Show me a trend that's hitting 65% today, and I'll show tou a trend that will be lucky to hit 53% over the next 5 years. That's the nature of the beast.

Hey, if you're lucky enough to stumble on a trend early, and the trend is built on sound principles, you can ride it out for a time.

I also think when used in conjunction with sound handicapping, they can be helpful............as Mr Reality pointed out with the NBA totals.

But I would be leary of blindly play8ing a trend..............just my opinion....

C.R.I.S. needs a good book manager don't they. They had to go to a 20 cent line didn't they? They seem to always open themselves up WIDE on every game. That can't be good sports book managing, or GOOD for anything for that matter. You can tell by the way they move things they aren't very smart. In my opinion that book is not being run the right way at all. I would think they could get somebody sharp to manage the book.

Do you ever bring this up to them? You say your this great bookie, Why aren't you down there helping them out? They do need help don't they?
