Useful discussion, when I got might have to watch a baseball game seeing I haven't seen a whole one for a few years - wanted to go have a look a the IP, so this sounds like a plan.
sundays at the Imperial Palace are nice...big screens set up in the showroom...lots of cheap food and they announce the halftime plays since the book is right around the corner
also like the luxor (get there early for a seat)...there is a very good deli near by and you can see the betting boards as you watch the games....classy crowd
Monday nights are great at the RIO...lots of food...give-a-ways (I won a huge cooler once that i had to haul back on the plane) and they usually have some former pro-NFLer signing autographs (anyone up for a Golden Richardson signed card?)
FYI...for the colleges i usually sit in the flamingo hilton as i like the crowd and you can sprint over to the Barbary Coast to check out the lines and better parlay odds
I agree the Belligo seems to have the best sportsbook, although they are terrible with ther comps so I would not stay there if your a table player. Also the Belligo and Mirage give free drinks. Other places like New York New York (Which by the way has a tempory sportsbook right now) and Harrahs only give drinks to horse bettors.
The IP is great when they open the showroom for sports, like on nfl sundays. But locals take up all the seats, cause its such a great deal and they can get easy access off koval in the back. Going early, wont help as the seats are almost all reserved. I had to go too harrahs to get a seat where i could see and they serve food and the tv's are small but clear.
