It's refreshing to have you back on the farm,
keep up the excellent work. I just don't understand the modern day BM, take today for example, they hung a total on the ZONA/BIRD game of 7 1/2 or there abouts. I had this game as a solid under play at 5 1/2 or 6. Makes one wonder how it is they keep employed. As usual the boys in the boiler room send their regards. stymiesan

In Dune's thread on "Money Laundering", Segundo expressed a sentiment that I hear often amongst my bet dealing friends: The Drug Cartels are responsible for all of the the Evil Empire's dictates that require 3rd world bank tellers to snoop for the US Govt Mafia.

I hope the contributers to this thread realize that Segundo is wrong and I hope the contributers to this thread thank God each day for the Drug Cartels and Corrupt Government agents that allow their doobie desires to be satisfied.

      "The worst thing that can
happen to people in a tightly regulated society is to have government
bureaucrats who cannot be bought off with a bribe."

"The election of Vicente Fox as Mexico’s new president has raised hopes that
government corruption will be ended. Don’t count on it. As long as people
believe that government should regulate peaceful behavior, regulations
interfering with mutually beneficial transactions will be enacted. And it’s
those regulations that give rise to bribes as people try to avoid their
effect. Thus, the only way to get rid of corruption is to repeal the
regulations and abolish the regulatory agencies. That’s not likely to happen
under Fox or any other Mexican politician. The second-best alternative is to
continue letting the bribes take place, so that people’s wishes and plans
will not be frustrated by government regulations. The worst thing that can
happen to people in a tightly regulated society is to have government
bureaucrats who cannot be bought off with a bribe." --Jacob G. Hornberger,

Well said! For many reasons I thank my
lucky stars everyday for drug cartels.

          LysanderSpooner,

Could it possibly be that J.G. Hornberger is a staunch supporter of the Libertarian Party? That was quite a provocative statement you quoted. What is your party's position on the recent F.Hernandez and Z. Floyd death penalty rulings?

This post was not intended to ignite smoldering ashes, although it might.

Ronbets, when I started reading in Dunes' thread about the Global "criteria" that the US is trying to impose, I just had to pop off.

Hornberger is a dynamic writer and speaker and every bit as pure and un-compromising a libertarian as the RJ's Vin Suprynowicz who I also like to tout. Hornberger's foundation's website http://www.fff.org

Although, the Libertarian Party platform supports "restitution for the victim to the fullest degree possible at the expense of the criminal or wrongdoer", the platform does not take a stand on the death penalty.
