I just talked to a phone clerk at at a Vegas book who told me that Vegas phone account limits will soon be reduced to $300 a pop UNLESS a player agrees to be "investigated by the Gaming Control Board." The phone clerk had no details on what such an investigation would entail.

Ronbets, I can just imagine the investigation. The GCB, search warrant in hand, will probably go your residence with the FBI and IRS. If they see you bet offshore, they'll probably confiscate everything you own. Then, they'll fine you and audit you so you'll be paying them the rest of your life.

Reno,
The handwritting is on the wall...you'll be leaving Vegas soon..."maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday...." (i had to throw in that Casablanca line after the Reality post.)
i wonder how many of us there are around that are looking for a tropical island/country where we can get a peer group and a good stiff drink.....someplace where we can do our banking and gambling with no
fear of losing everything we've worked a lifetime to get...
an english speaking island with light skinned girls would be nice......and of course...dusty-free....know of any?
i've got 6 more weeks of chemo and i'm gonna go looking

Auspice, I ran into **** the Pick at the Union Plaza two days ago. I got his phone number and will be playing tennis with him at the end of the summer. He's getting ready to leave town again and embark on yet another journey.
I know that sometime back you were interested in contacting him. Post your e-mail address and I'll send you his phone #.
Good luck with your chemo, and good luck in finding a great island paradise. Just out of curiosity, what islands have you already visited and what islands are you planning to check out?

Reno,
MY e-mail is auspice@cybrtown.com
My travels have mostly taken me to the carribean. Although I've really enjoyed visiting several islands like Antiqua,
St. Thomas, Aruba, and Curacao over several trips, none of these islands are really quite what I'm looking for.
I've promised a couple of people I know that I'd be coming to Antiqua soon, but I'm
much more interested in a nearby island called St. Maartin. It's a duty-free island and home to the best cuisine in the world. English isn't the native tongue but i'm told almost everyone speaks a little and about half are fluent. The island is half dutch and half french and only about a third or so the size of antiqua. Lots and I mean lots of people from Antiqua go shopping in
St. Maartin because it's duty free. These islands like antiuqa that aren't duty free are incredibly expensive to go and live if you plan to stay. For instance, a new car in antiqua usually has something like a 106%
import tax as well as the cost of transportation. Housing is incredibly high in these places because everything has to be shipped in and then doubled for the import duty tax. And if you do own a home in antiqua....the insurance is a tad bit pricey. I have a house here in Ohio that's insured for $250,000 and I pay around $450 yearly. In antiqua and most of the carribean islands .....insurance is approximatley $2,500 for each $65,000 every year.
I called billy's realtor on
St. Maartin and talked for awhile...There's still land which can be bought and according to her 3 or 4 pretty nice golf courses. I thought it best not to ask if the women were any better looking there than in antiqua. I sure hope so.
Anyway, I'm planning on visiting several South Pacific Islands before round ball season which is when I make all my money. If I find any place newsworthy I'll post you.
Thanks....and good luck.

Auspice, I'll be e-mailing you a little later. If you, or anyone else, is planning on going to St Maarten/St. Martin, give Roger at WWTS a call. They have connections and can save you money on accomodations.
St. Maarten/ St. Martin is very nice. However, the native women are black, which is not my cup of tea. There are some white women, but the overall selection was not impressive.
