    Hartley,

I try and watch a little of the show if there are no good sports on. Can you post the odds on who is going to win on this site. For some reason, I can't access Intertops at work due to the firewall. I understand why WSEX doesn't go through at work but not sure why Intertops doesn't :-)

Apparently they all had to sign non-disclosure agreements as to who the winner is. The agreements have specific monetary penalties in them. I believe a former castaway who was voted off (Ramona) said it was $2,000,000. I watch the show every week, and I was waiting for a sportsbook to offer this bet. I didn't think it would happen since the outcome has already occured. But no one that knows the outcome would bother betting anyway since the limit is $55...WOO HOO!

      Richard +250
      Rudy +300
Field (all others not listed) +300
      Kelly +400
      Colleen +600
      Gretchen +600

With 10 people left, the 2 tribes are combining this week, so the competitions for immunity and prizes are now individual as opposed to team vs. team. Therefore the voting strategy changes from voting off the weakest (since they wanted to make their teams stronger), to voting off the strongest (since the strongest would be favored to win the individual competitions).

Richard, Kelly, and Susan still had that voting alliance together, so that might be a factor. Rudy was thinking about joining them, so once they decide who they want off, all four would vote for that person.

This is the latest poll from USA today:

Whose turn is it to go?
      49% 545 Gervase
      15% 164 Susan
      13% 150 Richard
      6% 64 Jenna
      4% 43 Rudy
      4% 41 Colleen
      3% 35 Sean
      3% 32 Gretchen
      2% 26 Greg
      2% 23 Kelly

      Total votes cast: 1123

Of the remaining castaways, in the various votes, Rudy has received 6 votes, Jenna 3, Colleen 1, and Susan 1. The other 6 have not received any. For Gervase this is surpising since he was the key factor in his tribe losing 3 of the competitions, and last week he said women were "dumb as cows" so he'll be gone soon. Rudy has received votes in all 3 of his tribes visits to tribal council, so he'll be gone eventually.

When the competition gets down to the final 2, the last 7 voted off before them are brought back to vote for the winner. For this reason, my money's on Gretchen as she is one of only two who hasn't engaged in any bitching or backstabbing. The other is Greg, but he is viewed as a leader and for that reason will probably now be voted off before the final vote for the $1,000,000.

        PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

DURING LAST YEARS OSCARS,I E-MAILED A NUMBER OF BOOKS THE LIST OF OSCAR WINNERS THREE DAYS PRIOR TO THE OSCAR PRESENTATIONS.

TO ANYONE CONSIDERING POSTING ODDS ON THIS EVENT I WOULD KEEP THAT IN MIND.

I WOULD THINK THE EVENTUAL WINNERS IN THE OSCARS WOULD BE A BETTER GUARDED SECRET THAN THE LONE SURVIVOR HERE.

        JUST SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT...

Intertops.Com Lets Viewers Cash in on 'Survivor'
Internet Bookmaker Offers Odds on the Sole $urvivor of CBS's Hit Show
ST. JOHN'S, Antigua & Barbuda, July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- With over 20 million people tuning in each week, CBS's ``Survivor'' has quickly become a pop culture phenomena inspiring water cooler talk throughout offices nationwide. Now that the original cast of 16 has been narrowed down to the final ten, viewers everywhere are speculating what castaway will leave Pulau Tiga with the $1 million grand prize. Realizing that the anticipation of millions grows each week as another castaway is eliminated, today Intertops.com became the first established bookmaker to accept wagers on who will be the $1 million winner on CBS's ``Survivor'' television series.

The Internet's first and largest sports betting site, Intertops.com has listed Richard, the 39-year-old Corporate Trainer from Newport, Rhode Island as the early favorite to take home the $1 million dollar prize-currently listing him at 5/2 odds (i.e., win $5 for every $2 bet). Intertops.com also feels that Rudy, the retired Navy Seal (3/1) and Kelly, the river guide from Las Vegas (4/1) have what it takes to endure the 39-day version of ``Gilligan's Island'' for the new millennium.

``Just as CBS took a gamble when it brought the 'Survivor' concept to the US airways, so, too did the original cast of 16 take a big risk in hopes of securing the $1 million prize. It's only fitting that we offer the millions of viewers the opportunity to further enhance their 'Survivor' experience,'' said Simon Noble, executive director and co-founder of Intertops.com. ``Now, as both the remaining weeks and survivors on Pulau Tiga wind down, Intertops.com becomes an integral part of the 'Survivor' experience as viewers' interest reaches a fever pitch.''

In addition, Intertops.com also has created individual odds for Colleen, the college student from Florida, and Gretchen, the homemaker from Tennessee, both listed at 6/1 odds. All other remaining castaways have been included in 'the Field,' currently listed at 3/1 odds. Current odds are subject to change.

Could Someone, ANYONE, Beuller, ANYONE explain to me the appeal of this show?? It's gotta be the stupidist concept I've ever heard, and it's as Phony as a Clinton, IMHO. Sure, the "castaways" are eating rats, and the TV cameramen and techs right next door are dining on Caviar. GIMME A BREAK!!! I prefer my phony TV shows to admit they're phony and revel in their phoniness like WCW and WWF do. Rant hat Off now!!

I saw the banner ad here at BW that you could bet on the last survivor at intertops, so I opened an account & deposited $50. When I logged in it says the following about this bet:

"Sorry! This Bet Offer has now Closed!

Talk about false advertising! I went through all this hasstle for nothing?

P.S. I think survivor is the best t.v. show on right now. It has all the elements of a great show: exotic location, drama, action, suspense, competitons, mind games, strategy, conflicting personalities, sex, etc... and it is not phony because it involves real people, not actors.

It's open Survivor. They said they were going to take down the odds just prior to the show and repost revised odds the next day.

As it is, the odds are the same but Greg is now out of the field and has 9-2 odds. Gretchen of course is gone.

After speaking to management, they said they plan to repost the odds with the hope of dissolving the field bet eventually and having individual odds on everyone when it is down to 6 or 7 survivors left. Anyone who bet the field earlier obviously would get whichever individuals were in the field at the time.

As for the appeal - I don't know but it sure is popular. Big Brother on the other hand is a piece of ....

There are odds on who will be the last Survivor on the game show and this is my take...

I need to first say that I eliminated all of the women because I think they are at an unfair disadvantage with all the physical competitions. Below are the men that are left

Richard (current favorite, leader of 'the allience', drawback is I don't think cbs wants a gay nudist to win this game).

Rudy( ex marine, drawback is he is very old & onry and some of the women don't like him)

Sean( does dumb things like waste energy on building bowling ally's on an island and fishes every day and never catches anything)

Gervase( Gets buy on his personality, but admits he doesn't derserve to win because he hasn't helped out on allot of the daily activities, also he can't swim)

Greg( This is who I pick to win. He is 24 and a world traveler, very smart, hasn't made any enemies, drawback is he is not in the allience. cbs made hints last week that he may be forming his own allience on the next episode)
