According to J.R. "Losers pay no vigorish (juice)."
    RENO,
I PREFER TO ADDRESS THIS IN THE PRACTICAL SENSE OF THE WORD JUICE AND NOT THE THEORITICAL.

I BOOK 10 FOOTBALL GAMES ALL WITH A DIME DECISION ON EACH SIDE.

    NO NUMBERS LAND.

    UNFORTUNATELY,FOR ME,I LOSE ALL 10 DECISION.

    I LOSE $10,000 IN DECISIONS.

    I EARN $1,000 IN JUICE.

MY NET LOSS FOR THE DAY IS $9,000.

I BOOK 10 BASEBALL GAMES,ALL WITH A DIME DECISION ON EACH SIDE OF THE 10 GAMES.

UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME,I NEED THE DOG IN ALL 1O GAMES,AND THE FAVORITE WON ALL 10 GAMES.

    I LOSE $10,000 IN DECISIONS.

I WRITE $30,000 PLUS IN HANDLE.

I EARN ZERO IN JUICE,BECAUSE THE FAVORITE BEAT ME IN ALL 10 DECISIONS.

I PAYOUT THE $10,000 I LOSE IN DECISIONS.

    WHERE IS MY JUICE HERE?

    NOT THE KIND IN THEORY.

THAT CAN'T LESSEN THE NET LOSS OF LOSING 10 OUT OF 10 DECISIONS.

THE KIND OF JUICE THAT CAN REDUCE THE LOSS OF DECISIONS AS IN SPORTS WHERE 11/10 IS INVOLVED.

Miller's web-site has been up for years. I highly doubt that he came here to 'drum up business' using controversy as the lever.

Obviously, somebody tipped him off about this thread as I have yet to see him address any reference to his site (good or bad) on any web-site/forum over the last 3 or 4 yrs. I highly doubt that he monitors these forums regularly.

As esoteric as this little (meaningless) 'debate' has become, it all comes down to one thing:

What do you consider a 'unit', or a 'bet'?

Is it a 'bet' to win $100 or to lose $100?

At that point, you can 'tack on' the juice and the loser pays, (but then your unit is $110, not $100) but if your unit is $100, then you could easily argue that the 'winner' pays because of the $91 payout rather than the $100 payout that would occur w/ your buddy.

The fundamental difference is this 'debate' is whether you consider a $110 dollar(or any permutation thereof) bet a 1 unit bet or a 1.1 unit bet.

In my always humble opinion, your unit is what you stand to lose, not what you might win...in that case, Miller would be correct.

The folks that think that a unit is based on what you might win would obviously see it the other way.

JR, nobody is attacking you, we are discussing your theory. If you want to discuss the topic. I would say that a link to your website(despite the motivations) is quite convenient. Have you ever tried the copy and paste buttons on your computer.

I have said publicly on other websites that I agree with much of what you say. However the winner pays Vig is pure semantics and nothing else. If I were in the same boat you were, capable of picking 55% only on games and not being able to determine the difference between a 55% and a 65% game, I would use you same strategy. But trust me, it can be determined. If you are insinuating I am a loser, hate to disappoint you, you could not be further from the truth. If you would like to put your reputation where your mouth is next NBA season and go head on in a capping contest, at the forum of your choice, over 200 games over the entire season, BRING IT ON.

While I disagree with Mr. Millers view on this issue, I don't think it's fair to say he's here promoting. Personally I'd like him to be a regular poster. And I think he's right about 2% as a good rule of thumb for bet size.

Regardless of whether winners or losers pay the vig, one thing's for sure. People who follow JR's picks have paid a lot of vig this year. How many thousands of picks have you had this year, to date? And after all those picks how many units are you up? And how many units have you paid in vig?
