Unfortunately no progress has been made. The book now refuses to discuss this situation. This is their stance even though they had told me that they were confident that overwhelming response to my post would be in their favor. Now that they see this is not the case I had really hoped they would reevaluate their position. They refuse to do that and they refuse to provide "their side" of the story. It is clear to me that they have not responded with their side of the story because, with a few exceptions, they agree with my account of the story. The only thing that appears to be in dispute is what the settlement should be. I feel it should be $16,000 and they feel it should be $0.
Clarifications of what the exceptions are for which they disagree with my account of what happened:
-When I cashed out for the original balance that he reinstated after feeling bad about taking it, he said that was an implied settlement. I don't feel you can have a settlement unless you have explicit communication about the terms of the settlement.
-Are my friend and myself the same person? The book at one point indicated that they thought maybe we were the same person. In subsequent conversations he did not pursue this point. Rather, he brought about the point that a partnership between my friend and myself was involved to take advantage of his book. I have agreed that my friend and I did discuss the bets before we made them.
I have asked the book to offer their explanation of why they think a settlement of $0 is fair and/or to respond to any details that I have provided that they feel are not accurate. I even suggested they do this anonymously by providing Jeff of Bettorsworld with the info so he could relay the post. They have declined this as well.
