Transfer Fees

I was sad to see that both CRIS and SOS have implemented a charge ($30) for transfers of funds to other books, even to other local books.

I'd prefer to see a once-per-week limit, to reduce the abuse some players might give the service.

I know there is time involved in making these transfers, but I'd guess it is somewhere around 15 minutes.

On the other hand, don't the sportsbooks get some interest from their bank on my funds?

What do you guys/gals think?

The book receiving the money should pick up the tab just like when a player sends money directly. One transfer per week also sounds reasonable.

CRIS already has one free payout a week ... used to anyway.

When I transferred money from CRIS to Caribi sometime ago I was not charged.

If there is one free payout a week I would assume this would include a transfer.

Surely they must have stopped their policy of one free payout per week. Otherwise, why would they charge for a transfer to another book?

Apparently no one but me is concerned about these newly instated fees.

Transfers between sportsbooks is very important to a lot of players. I estimate that I will have a total of 50 such transfers each year. Thirty dollars for each mounts up to $1500.

In my opinion, it behooves sportsbooks to go out of their way to accomodate a reasonable amount of free transfers--say at least one and perhaps two (like WWTS) each week. In fact, I go out of my to do transfers to save books the $210 charge they get stuck with when I send them a green-form Western Union for 5 dimes. If I get stuck with transfer charges, then I'm much more likely to opt for the green-form route.
