Teamtalk Forms Partnership With Ladbroke for Internet Betting

London, June 27 (Bloomberg) -- Teamtalk.com, a U.K. sports news Web site, said it formed a partnership with Ladbroke Group Plc, Britain's largest betting-shop chain, to enable its users to bet on sport over the Internet.
Teamtalk, which gives results on soccer, golf or cricket through the Internet, mobile phones or interactive television, said it signed a five-year exclusive partnership with Ladbroke, owned by Hilton Group Plc. In return, Teamtalk will provide news to Ladbroke.
In the sports betting market, Ladbroke, which began offering tax-free sports betting on its own Web sites ladbrokes.com and bet.co.uk in October, competes with Sportingbet.com and Freeserve Plc, the U.K.'s largest Internet service, which offers online betting with Sports Internet Group Plc.
Shares of Teamtalk, a spinoff of IMS Plc, a U.K. phone service company, rose as much as 3 pence, or 7 percent, to 46 pence, a third of the price when they first sold shares in April.
