  • Station's lines's the most cloned?

I think so according to what I have been seeing. They come up everyday before anyone else and then come the cloners, the big bad books that everyone says are so sharp. Why does everyone give these offshore guys credit when that "shack" on Sahara Ave. is the first one in? Are you telling me that Olympic, CRIS, and Caribi all have handicappers making the same kind of line as Palace Station? I must give credit though to Olympic because they are the first with the totals. I know, I know, you are going to tell me that they just want to get their lines in for their overnight bettors no matter what line they use, and then they will make their adjustments according to their opinion in the morning. That's ok as ling as they don't take credit for having the "best" lines, or the "first" lines, or the "earliest" lines.
Whew! I feel better now. My point is, when are we going to see bookies competing to be the first ones up? The first ones to get a crack at kicking the **** out of us, the bettors? Is betting baseball that much of a guaranteed winner?

    Segundo,

Wake up!! You call what Stations are doing posting a line? How much credibility can you give a place or their line thats good for 3dollars a pop? and they run with it! Earlier in the season there were 10-15cent gaps. Wow, you could make 15 grocery $ scalping MAX. That doesnt pay for gas, abuse or valet. Comps? They ll give you unlimited use of the outdoor pool in January.
    I hope your are kidding.

Ronbets, you totally missed the point!! Everyone else clones the numbers that they put up, that's all I said. And they are the first ones up. I agree with you that it is a joke to bet there, I even called it a shack, no? You make a bet there and they want to know if you are a runner betting for someone else. i don't think you read my whole post. The point I was trying to make is will bookies ever compete to be the first ones up with lines in baseball?

        Segundo,

Ok, we are on the same channel now. To answer your ?. I doubt it. They want to play our game with the DB Screen. Its tough putting up virgin #s for any kind of money. If your right--no action. One bad # --bang!

If I were a bookmaker, I d deal early and often. I d deal the first #s the same style that Dunes Sports deals "in progress". A slight twist, but the same basic concept. BTW, they wernt the originators of that method.--Ron

Segundo...What if ten or twenty or whatever # of books get an early line from the same source? What if they all waited till the next morning to post them? What if one small timer put them up a day early? Does that make him sharp or the "most cloned" even though nobody that matters pays attention to them?...Scotty

            Ronbets,

Without mentioning any names a guy I knew used to put up the football on sunday night and take twentys. Same idea must bet. It was a lot of fun on saturdays with no decision on the game hoping it didn't fall 5-6-7-8-9 or 10.
Ps: I think he's a valet parker at the Mirage now.

Scott, I have no idea, that's why I started this thread. Do you know how this stuff works? Do you know where these guys get their lines from? I really don't know how it works but I do have an idea that Olympic in Jamaica does not use the same service as the Palace Station, or do they?

Ronbets, the in progress method was something that me and my cousin used to bet with each other when we watched a game together about 12 years ago on the TV, we did it per pitch, the whole game through.

                Segundo,

The "in progress" betting Im referring to is a little bit different. Player to BM--must bet.

If you and your cousin have patent rights to this method of betting, you ve got royalties coming.

I'm not saying that we invented it, but it was something we used to do, adjust the line as the game would progress. I think it's a great idea but if someone knows what they are doing, the bookie can get killed. A good example was last night's game between the Dodgers and Padres. I saw Hersheiser throw about ten pitches in the first inning, he got the batters out but his stuff was horrible. I would have loved to have an account at Dunes last night after the Dodgers went up one nothing at the end of the first. I would have asked for a line on the side AND the total because Meadows looked crappy also. If you pay attention to these games and know how a line should be moved you can crush these guys.

Talking about Stations, Ive never had a problem with NFL bets (10-20k)or MLB. And their comp setup is real loose. I like being able to use the card at any joint. Look for the MGM-Mirage to switch to a "one-card" system as well. Palace Station tends to sweat table games action. And their casino credit policies (once liberal) are now a bit harsh.

Without going into detail which I won't there are basically two sources for the baseball numbers which in turn service most of the shops in one way or another. Therefore the shops are not cloning the numbers the numbers just come from a limited source with exceptions of course.

If anybody wants to get an idea of
within a few dollars of what the STATIONS
overnite line will look like, email JEFF
                        and ask for email address.

                          SEGUNDO
The STATIONS is dealing a 10 CENT line
and OLYMPIC is dealing a 20 CENT LINE,
therefore, the diff. I can probably be
a little closer to the GREEK'S overnite
line. Wouldnt you like to have a little edge
in knowing what a shop is going to open up with?
