Interesting article about this place in my local paper. The entire country is a a gun platform from World War II, 6 miles off the coast of England. It says that internet gambling businesses are welcome. They offer "an unprecedented level of freedom and security". To read the article go to www.bergen.com and search for "sealand". Here's another link with a photo, www.fruitsofthesea.demon.co.uk/sealand/gallery.html

Sealand-Offshore Internet Haven

The British government has had just about enough of these guys.
Sealand has taken to issuing its own passports. That ********** who went on the killing spree in the US (name escapes me but he murdered a few **********s in the Midwest, and finally a clothes designer in FL--was his name Versace, the designer?) had a Sealand passport on him when he was found dead on the houseboat and the US government complained to the UK that he could have likely used it to flee the US. Other countries have also complained.
The UK is a reasonably regulated place with commitments to NATO and the EU. I doubt you'll see this "data haven" around long, for sportsbooks or anything else.

Yep that's the name I was looking for. Anyway he had a Sealand passport on him in his own name when he was found.
On a side note, I'm surprised the bulletin board bleeped out "h-0m-0-s-e-x-u-a-l". Granted not much to do with sportsbetting but I didn't think it was a nasty word. Can think of a lot worse that are equivalent.
