Is there any chance that winning bets on the Pocono 500 could be voided since it is not being run on the listed date? Would never have occurred to me if not for the UK2000/SportsFanatik situation.
rfd,
I can only speak for Sportbet.com and IslandCasino.com we have made the decision and posted on our websites that the previous bets made are to be carried over and accepted as live action.
Also let it be known that we are still accepting wagers on the listed matchups that we have until 10:00am (EST) That is the new time of which the race is scheduled to start.
I'm a bit worried about this decision, even though I don't have any bets affected myself. I'm assuming that the rules clearly state that any wagers are cancelled if the event does not take place on the scheduled date. You can't be sure that all the players see such a posting (that the bets will carry over).
It seems to me that you are setting yourself up for another disaster. A player could say that he didn't see the message posted, and cite the rules, assuming that the bet had been cancelled. I'd suggest you think through this one carefully.

Being that it already had been my decision
and CRIS did the same after speaking to the headman there I decided to stand with my decision and have all wagers carry over.
I had bets at carib and Wsex. Even though they showed up as pending this morning, I contacted each of them to verify that the wagers were still valid. Good thing too, as I had mayfield at Carib. Yeah Boy!!!!
Chester, You made the right decision in honoring all bets. WWTS uses the "must be played on date specified" rule for all sports. That's a bad rule for NASCAR, golf, and tennis. They need to rewrite their rules to be consistant with the rest of the world. Last time there was NASCAR rainout I got screwed by that rule.
This rule can be voided easily by posting "All bets action." on events likely to have these consequences. As a BM I would definately void ALL bets unless that was posted(or individual players called in verifying their bets.)
