  • Goodby Bowmans

I have been with Bowmans since I started offshore betting 3 years ago.

Slowly but steadily Bowmans has gone done hill.

Promises of online service never materialized. Now their "live lines" website is "updated every 30 minutes."

With no source of current lines Bowmans is now worthless to me ... time to say goodby.

BTW, it is rumored the Victor Chandler is going to buy Bowmans - someone sure needs to before it crumbles to dust ...

mls, take it easy on Bowman's. For a sportsbook owner, Gary Bowman still makes a helluva stogie. For example, his El Chernobyl glows in the dark even when unlit. And his El Stinko is guaranteed to get rid of ****roaches. If it fails, you get a free $2 parlay.

Unfortunately, Victor Chandler seems to already be following in the footsteps of Bowman's. Like Bowman's, they offer neither real-time odds nor online wagering. They have boring, clone lines. Chris, the guy from VC who came into this forum, talks about the "Don Best Circus." Hell, the guy lives in a glass house and throws stones. Don Best books blow away his joint for line variety. And where do you think he copies his betting lines from?

My suggestion to Victor Chandler regarding American sports is this: You guys might be better off in the cigar business.

The friends of mine who still are with them always tell me there latest fiasco's with Bowman's the new thing they have is a 3rd set of lines that's right YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST A THIRD SET 1.)For the suckers where if you had a few accounts with them you could actually middle there sharp line. 2.)wiseguy Don Best line 3.)If you are fortunate enough they now have a direct number for you to call where you get to talk to Mr. Personality himself Mr. Daniels and he will hastily give you the lines after he checks ,rechecks, and triple checks absolutely not an ounce of steam is coming in on your side. So that means you can no longer press number 2 on your phone to get the line run down like you could of with 1.) or 2.) above.

They usually have a few props on individual players in the baskets and had shaq at 35o30 35o45 and 35o55 3 DIFFERENT LINES ohh ! how nice.....

As I always close my Bowman threads they are a solid out YES ! SOLID for anyone that bets under $200 a game and even then you have to not go 6-2 one day or you may get the hook.

I apologize for forgetting to mention one of Gary Bowman's truly outstanding cigars: the El Dildo. Because this is not a pornographic site, I will desist from going into detail about the multiple functions offered by this cigar. Those of you with a vivid imagination can no doubt contemplate the possibilities. The fact that Bubba Clinton himself highly recommends this cigar truly says all that needs to be said abouut this incomparable stogie.

WHAT KILLED BOWMANS WAS COMPETITION-WHEN HE
STARTED, THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE AMOUNT OF PLACES THERE ARE TODAY. BTW, RENO, I THINK GARY BOTTLES HIS OWN BRAND OF LIQUORS ALSO.

What Happened to Bowman's. Were they always this way or were they once a good shop that took a decent bet? I have always heard he was one of the first books to go offshore, how did he let the competition pass him by?

bsky2, the biggest mistake many offshore books make is being pennywise and pound foolish. If they'd simply pay a little more and hire a top-end BM, they could make millions more.

If Bowman's had hired someone like Chester at Island Casino or Polar, they never would have devolved into the offshore Joke that they now are.

Places like Bowman's are reactive instead of pro-active. They fear wiseguys because they lack the know-how to use them to their advantage. And it all comes down to their failure to hire a qualified BM.

Bsky2- They were definitly tops of the offshore world up till 5 or 6 years ago. I know a few guys who beat them out of 6 figures in less then 2 months football season 1994.
