How could anyone play virtual BJ and be sure they're getting a fair deal? You'd have to be crazy!

The rule you are referring to is common in casinoes throughout Europe. They (Perplexa)recently went to this rule to take away a bit of the edge from the player. Personally, I could not see how they could offer a game with a positive expectation for the player at such low limits $1 min. You were not cheated and if you had familiarized yourself with the rules before playing this would not be a problem. Granted this rule hasn't been in effect very long, but they did compensate by offering Early surrender when they went to the 'No-Hole Card rule'. Hope this helps. Why didn't Chester just expalin this in the first place.

          Gary,
I must say I do not know who you are, where you are from, or what your angle might be but you are mistaken. This situation has been under review and as we speak is being resolved...Information as follows for all interested parties. The blackjack game does indeed take the player's doubled bet when the player doubles or splits against the dealer's blackjack, with ace exposed. THIS IS A BUG.(It's a bad move on the player's part, but the casino should not take the extra bet.) A fix of this situation is in the works as I am posting in this forum...
          Best regards,
          Chester

I got this info off of the Wizard of Odds, (also posted at the Shrinks) site mentioned above. I do not have an angle. It clearly states that double and split bets are lost when the dealer has a blackjack. Why would you be using live software that has a 'bug' in it? I doubt its a bug. I'd bet that they wanted to program in the European no-hole card rule and in doing so created early surrender (by having surrender and the fact that the dealer hasn't drawn a card yet).

Unified Gaming has updated their blackjack software to allow the player early surrender when the dealer has an ace showing. In other words the player may surrender before the dealer checks for a blackjack! This adds 0.4% to the player's expected return. In addition Unified Gaming now follows the European no-peek rule with an ace showing, subtracting 0.02% from the player's edge, so the player should now hit an 11 against an ace. With these new rules combined with Unified Gaming's already liberal rules the player now has an edge of 0.53% following the new Unified Gaming basic strategy! Gary,
I spkoe to Mike from the Wizard of Odds because I felt that article was not clear he confirmed that what he was trying to state was only that Unified Gaming has incorporated the early surrender rule not the European no peek rule and that 99% of Unified software online casinos follow the US
rule unless otherwise stated. I'd be happy to email you his response Thanks

Hi, I just hung up the phone with Chester at Island Casino and I am happy to report that
we have come to a more than fair agreement,
they have made a very fair offer and I hope that all goes well. I had played there
for three years and never had encountered anything like this. I would like to thank everyone at BW and Island Casino for helping me rsolve this. Once again Thanks Fran
