  • WHOSE BASEBALL LINE GETS CLONED MORE?

CRIS OR CARIBI OR MAYBE SOMEONE ELSE'S?

  • #2
To show just how far this "cloning" goes, for the 1st few days of baseball, I heard there were some online books dealing a dime, yet following CRIS! In otherwords, the dime books would have a game -120, CRIS might have -130, these books would post the -130........they were so used to following CRIS for hoops and football.......

Books that use a 10-cent line clone Caribi's numbers. Books that use a 20-cent line look to CRIS

          Old Man,

Since this is nostalgia week, lets list the top 5 public joints that have been reproduced the most in recent history. This is my list and is NOT etched in stone.

#1 Churchill Downs Race and Sports Book.--Heaven forbid anyone needing to use a pay phone seconds after the opening line was posted.

          #2 Stardust--dead heat with #1.

          #3 CRIS

          #4 Caribi--distant 4th but coming on.

          #5 Gary Austins and Union Plaza(under B.M.)

Old Man...I worked in both #1 and #2 and I'm going to split the entry. I vote the early Churchill ,before casinos, as #1. The Stardust of the mid 70's and the decade of the 80's is #2. The early Churchill Downs was the most unique, pure gambling joint in LV. Hollywood couldnt duplicate it. As far as casinos, Binions before the breakup is my #1...Scotty

Nobody mentioned LITTLE CAESARS. How about
when GENE had MIDNIGHT MADNESS and you could move a football game a hook at no extra juice. He would come out 15 mins before midnight and change all the games that were
              3 to 2.5 or 3.5.
