    Zippy- nice post.

However the problem I have is he has now ruined the reputation of the three books mentioned. And no matter who says different even though he has been paid. THIS WILL HURT ALL THE UNIFIED GAMING BOOKS (in the near future anyway)

This is America "home of the free land of the brave" so why shouldn't Boomer post here.

Sure he should be allowed to post. Freedom of speech takes precedence over all.
But his sportsbooks reviews should be taken off the site.
And even though he shouldn't be prohibited from commenting on books in the future, he should have the courtesy to voluntarily refrain.
Boomer, probably all of us have sold our self-respect at some time. I'm not getting holier-than-thou. But pay the price. Recognize that you have lost all credibility when it comes to posting about what books are good. Understand that if you DO post an opinion on a book, people will bring up your corruption. So, don't ask for trouble. Let it die. Don't bring it back to life by posting opinions on books.

Everyone to one extent or another looks out for number 1. Boomer did what he thought was best at the time and I have no problems with that. He has now felt it necessary to apologize and that's above and beyond as far as I'm concerned. Those that used to treat his words like gospel really need to ask themselves some serious questions as to why common sense and due diligence is lacking in their judgement... to the extent that they fully trust anyone on the internet, of all places, someone they've never met and who they don't know.

Thank you reno, Rebunkshus and krackman.

Reno: I’ve thought about responding to some of the libertarian philosophy and anti-tax rhetoric frequently offered in this forum, but I’ve refrained from doing so because I know it has the potential to get out of hand and take us far afield from sportsbetting. I’m afraid that all that would happen is that I’d get bombarded with indignant posts from libertarians, forcing me to either a) devote the time and effort and concentration necessary to respond to each and every one of them as thoroughly and adequately as I can—clearly a hopelessly Sisyphean undertaking--or b) ignore some or all of them, thereby creating the impression that in so doing, I am conceding defeat.

But don’t think I’m completely opposed or unsympathetic to libertarianism. I’ve always been a libertarian of the ACLU sort—liberty of thought, expression, lifestyle, etc. I’m just not a libertarian of the Ayn Rand sort—“rights” based on a narrow and metaphysically peculiar capitalist conception of private property trump all others.

From the fact that Reagan is dishonest enough to not pay taxes, and from the fact that the tax system is sufficiently corrupt and slanted in favor of the rich to allow such a thing, it hardly follows that others are justified in refraining from paying taxes.

In any case, I don’t claim to have all the answers. For now probably the best thing we can do is agree to disagree on this matter, and to get back to more crucial issues such as sportsbetting and the delights of teenage “ladies of the evening” in exotic locales.

            Boomer!

your posts will always be welcome at Bettors World. You have many thoughts and insights that can add to this forum.

But your UG posts have cost you a lot of respect that had been earned over the years. You and only you can earn that back. Until that is done I for one will not think of you as the E.F. Hutton of Bettors World.

                  Krackman,
I agree that all this mess will hurt all the Unified Books. But you know what? They all use the same e-cash system setup by Al Ross. Small players probably won't have a problem. Big players will have to wait from time to time for their money. All players need to beware that these small books that offer big time bonuses, these guys pay huge overhead.
                  phone bills
                  employees
                  western union fees
e cash fees & fed ex fees
                  ****software license fees*these are huge***
if any offer credit, they could get stiffed
                  it goes on & on
                  LOOK OUT!

I am glad Boomer got his money back and have no problem with him posting in the forum.

Change the scenario a little bit.
Say a book had an owner just like Boomer,
long time contributor with an impeccable reputation. The book falls on hard times, maybe because of too many 15% sign up bonuses. The book becomes involved in a dispute with a player (could be like the Players dispute below). The book posts false information in the forum regarding the dispute in a PR move, because if they lose too many players, they will be wiped out.

Would anybody be sympathetic to the book?

I want to agree with pay2play. He said that Boomer's reviews of sportsbooks should be taken down, and that he should no longer front his own trust in a book as solid information. That only seems fair.

I don't accept the apology because I don't need an apology. Gosh, it's just a posting board. Who knows what an apology means?

Like other readers I've learned stuff from Boomer's posts about the mechanics and psychology of sports betting. He's been an active and generous poster, and I hope he continues to tell us his stories.

boomer i was just wondering, did you make your 100,000 getting the bonuses or do you actually earn making large bets? the reason i ask is that you are on this forum so frequently that it seems like you wouldn't have time to watch the screen(don best) and get down.
p.s. note to thrifty people.....ask don best about the volume discount.
