  • Sportbet, Island Casino, & Go To

These books, which use the the Unified Gaming software, are, as far as I know, very solid. I play with these books and have never had a problem getting paid. Also, from what I understand, their pay-outs are done independently of many other Unified Gaming books whose pay-outs are under the control of Al Ross, the man behind the Unified software. Some other Unified Gaming books are also in charge of their own pay-outs, and it would be appreciated information if those books are identified in this post thread. I believe that Five Dimes, Gambler's Palace and IBet also are in control of their own pay-outs.

Island Casino and Sportbet are now managed by Chester, whom I met in Aruba when he ran the Holiday Inn Race & Sportsbook. Chester is a true BM who moves on action, not air. Not surprisingly, these sportsbooks, even with a 10-cent line, are thriving under his directorship. If the "clone" sportsbooks would emulate what Chester does instead of mindlessly updating off the Don Best Screen, they would actually make more money. And they would no longer be guilty of polluting sportsbetting cyberspace with stale, copycat betting lines. If you're looking for some different betting lines, sign-up with Sportbet and/or Island.

To summarize: In my opinion, Sportbet, Island Casino, and Go To are rightfully on the Betttorsworld Cream of the Crop List. I feel secure playing with these books and plan on continuing playing with them regardless of the outcome of the Boomer/Unified Gaming fiasco.

Reno, I think people needed to hear this. As you probably can recall, Sportbet took criticism late last year for quite a few claims of erroneous payouts. Hell, they even messed up my credit payout request (before quickly rectifying it within a week).

However, I still have a question for you. Those credits to my card were under the name Perplexa, which Boomer claims in his topic "An Open Letter..." knowingly and deliberately attempts subtly underhanded practices, in the hopes of swindling an unscrupulous and disorganized client or two. Of course, that got me "hmmmm-ing" about my episode, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt because things were settled, and their Fed-ex payout was solid.

Well, back to the question. Boomer said that Sportbet handles financial transactions independently because they were tired of these errors. Is this true, and/or how and under what guidance is banking handled?

If you and/or Chester can respond I would appreciate it. I have not posted with them in a while, but would do so because of your endorsement (mainly concerning their baseball lines), and if I my questions can be answered.

    Thanks.

Gooden, it is probably better if Chester answers questions regarding pay-outs. I did talk to Chester this morning, and one question that I didn't ask, which probably should be asked here, is: if Island and Sportbet are in control of their own pay-outs, why can't they do pay-outs every day of the week instead of just on Mondays?

I too have been with both sportbet and island for over a year and had no problems with either.... until last week I requested a fed ex check payout from island and for over a week they gave me the run around until this morning I called down and was told that my money has been credited back to my credit card which was already paid off and now must work this out with my bank...only other complaint would be the Monday payout and don't receive any were between weds and sat

The Monday only payout is purely an edge for the books. How likely is Joe Parlay, who hypothetically wins a couple of grand on Wednesday, to lay off the action all weekend long and keep his bets down? not likely in many cases. I expect these books recoup some of their losses from players that cannot manage their inflated bankrolls. It's maddening to see this practice still in effect. It's control the books don't deserve. Just my opinion.
I'd be interested to see some feedback from the involved Unified books who no longer use Perplexa or UChargeIt.

              SoCal,

I think you hit the jackpot. That is a good strategy on the books behalf. No player can keep from playing winnings.

              Reno,

Chester's a true BM? My have things changed! It's possible but.......

                  Chester,

It's possible.. was in a round about way was a compliment. You know I don't think too many people can do this job the right way. We need good bookies and you have a real chance to be a good one.

                  Take care buddy........

Can anyone identify those books with Unified that no longer use Perplexa and UChargedIt? If I'm correct in my assumption, the books with independent payouts should have NO reason whatsoever to stick with Monday only payouts. The only way things get done for the players is if we demand it in a public forum. The Perplexa and UChargedIt e-cash systems are no longer valid excuses. How about an explanation from the books. Let's see some changes dammit.

Right after I post the above I see that "Chester" of IC and SB announced right here in this forum that they will go to 6 days a week pay-outs. Way to go Chester. Hopefully the others will follow suit.

Bringing this thread to the top for reading reference. Take note that these comments were written back on June 6th, 2000. I'll bring Island Casino's response post to the top as well.

                          SoCal,
Very glad you brought this thread back up. I was sure that Island/Sportbet had announced that they were going to 6 day a week payouts but couldn't find it in the archives. Requested a withdrawal last week based on that and ended up waiting a week for it to be processed. Apparently the 6 day payouts is still not a reality.
