I accept your explanation that your rant wasnt personal. OK, now that we lowered the flame lets discuss these losses of liberty you are worried about. Your fears are the exception(rogue cops) not the rule.
Hate groups targeted gays, non-whites, etc. No cancer here. Hate crime laws were enacted to protect these minorities. They were nt herded in rail cars to horrible destinations. Surly, not the work of a "police state".
Strict adherence to the Fourth Amendment is fine on paper. In the 21st century it needs a tuneup. The professional terrorist would thrive like a wolf in a chicked coop with the time gap between warrant application and actual execution. Do you think our forefathers envisioned skyjacking way back in the 18th century? Only birds flew then. Did we lose liberty when metal detectors were installed to thwart these terrorists? I feel for the guy that has his money consficated after showing up on these airport X-Ray machines . The rogue cops conveniently assume hes an illegal courier.
