Can anybody (especially those who live in LV) shed some light on his current status and/or endeavors? I am familiar with pretty much everything up until about 5-6 years ago, but I've been out of the Vegas loop for several years now. I saw a brief special on him the other night that for the most part cast him in a positive light. I was under the impression that he wasn't very respected and was the joke of the town. How exactly is he viewed in the gambling community?

Stupak has been kind of quiet since his plans for building the "Titanic" on the strip was shelved by the city (high rollers could actually buy condo-suites in it, I believe, with little portals to look out of in the side of the "boat") and then I guess he was active in his son's run for City Council last year, but that's been it.

Over the last 2 years I have only seen him play in private games at the Strat, Mirage and Bellagio(Since Binions (Becky) wouldnt cash his 5k chips). In terms of buissness plans (like another casino) I think your right. As far as a gambler and a gentleman he has only treated the casino executives that assist him (w/estab. credit, etc)with the utmost respect, and therefore gets the same respect back. This is my own personal view of my dealings w/him.

Krack,
Yes after much bull@*$3 he did get paid. I ment that he did not tend to go back (to horseshoe)in light of that situation. I can only say that he has been very nice to me and others working in the casino, unlike many other high profile people.
