  • anyone here with DAS?

I just have a quick question to those here with accounts at Darwin All Sports. How do you deal with the currency issue? Do you bet in USD, or are all accounts still converted to AUD? Can you bet in US currency through the internet with them?

You can now have a US$ account. If you want to make a credit card deposit, it actually goes through as AUS$ and converted at the going exchange rate. But currency is not really an issue.

DAS is Mickey Mouse when it comes to baseball. They only take a dime on sides. Canbet, on the other hand, is big-time and takes 5 dimes. If I weren't in Nevada, I'd play with them. Is Canbet bigger than DAS in Australia? And are their limits also higher than DAS' on non-USA sports?

        No das is bigger

Canbet was setup for usa punters, not Australian. It's just the last 4 to 5 months
that it has book austalian sports

          reno,

I read that 98% of Canbet clients are yanks, so will be smaller, and DAS does horse racing.....

So what happens when you make a non-CC deposit in US funds? Can you wager online in US dollars?

I was told that you CANNON wager online in any other currency other than Australian dollars.

So what's the take on multi-currencies? They claim to have improved service and that things have changed (before they would convert your deposit to AUD). But it seems that nothing's changed at all, and that they still do the same thing they always did. Can this be right?

Cons, your accounthas to be set up initially as a US$ account. Originally they only allowed AUS accounts; when things changed I had to establish a new account for US$.

Reno is unfortunately right about the limits. And to make matters worse, both DAS and Sportingbet have a limit of $1000 TO WIN. So if you're looking to play a dog, you have to do the math to derive your smaller play amount.

I'm surprised to hear about the generous baseball limit at Canbet. I was about to conclude that none of the British or Australian books had enough baseball volume to allow a large limit.

Cons, if you still have trouble try sending e-mail to aj@international-allsports.com.au

A.J. is the one that helped me set up my US$ account.

Reno, what is Canbet's limit for MLB totals?

DAS was very good to bet with 1-2 years ago. You could bet soccer or American football up to AUD 5,000 and then parlay them also. Maybe they tried to pump up the volume before they were going public?

Now they have very small limits (at least over the net)like AUD 1,000 on NHL and soccer is down to about the same amounts. They were offering tennis but obviously they left that sport. Seems like they suffer from pro's beating them.

Canbet on the other hand seems to be the one to bet with. USD 5,000 on almost everything - for how long?

The US dollars accounts at DAS are for phone accounts only. Online accounts are AUS$, which are a pain, making me multiply by .6 all the time.
Canbet, on the other hand, has, I think, the best interface I've come across, in all ways. And even tho some have posted that they don't have a dime line on baseball, that's not true. More like an 8% line.
Both sides of a PK will be -104, for example. At higher odds, the spread widens accordingly, which to me is appropiate, a dime at a dollar not being the same as a dime at two.

pay2play, trust me, I've had an online account at DAS in US$ for almost a year now. You'll just have to ask or e-mail the link I provided above.

The limits are relatively low, as we've discussed.

                          Cons & Sportshobby,

Thanks for the postings. Darwin All Sports do accept accounts in foriegn currencies and these accounts are valid for the phone and net betting. I have forwarded your email to our client services manager and have asked him to contact you regarding moving your account over to another currency.

                          Reno,
I agree that our US Sports limits are low at present, but as you are aware, we have been through a re-building exercise with our US Sports department over the last months and as soon as the volume allows it, our limits will be raised.
Our core customers have not shown much interest in betting on US Sports, but as digital tv brings coverage to a more global scale, I am sure that they will become more popular betting mediums.
DAS has been the largest independent bookmaker in Australia for a number of years and as you will appreciate, every business excels in a specific area; for us that area is horse racing. In the past weeks we have broken every record that has existed for daily holds (>$4m per day) and taken a number of single bets for stakes in excess of $300,000.

As OZ quoted, Canbet was aimed at US Sports for US Clients. DAS has only recently started marketing into the US. However, this marketing exercise is set to become much more intensive as we build back towards the football season.

Sportshobby, I will change that $1,000 limit so you can play either side without having to get a calculator.

Hilper, although the limits are set over the net, please don't hesitate to call our Toll Free number to get a phone quote. We bet considerably larger over the phone.

I hope that this info helps everybody and I'd like to say thanks for your interest in the International All Sports Group.

                          Regards,

                          Aj

------------ Digital tv here? I doubt it, seeing how the government/tv monopoly has screwed it up horribly. Timezone of US sports is never going to be conducive to tv interest betting in Australia, except for things like the Super Bowl, or a few other events that are in daytime. No free to air coverage of any events live except the Super Bowl, seeing the evil cable barons have stolen them.

                            obviously helps.

Any chance of getting a 1.90 rugby league market? I notice your competition in the NT has finally caught up to your AFL value, helped by said Canberra competition I imagine, too.
