I called in to Olympic this evening to place a wager on the NHL total this evening, but I continued to get an "all circuits are busy" message. As this continued, I though I would save time by simply logging into their web sight to make my play.

I was looking to play a couple of dimes on the hockey total, but when I attemted the wager, it got kicked back with a message stating that the limit on this play was $1500. So I played the $1500 on one ticket and would simply attempt to play the remainder on a second ticket. After my initial play of $1500, Olympic's line moved by 5c, so I would have to close the play at a less attractive price. My second attempt was rejected, however, with the message that $1500 was the total position I would be allowed on the play. I figure that once they move the line, one should be able to play it again, but no, $1500 was all I was allowed. I went to another shop and closed out my play (at a less attractive price, I might add) and then went into the rules page at Olympic, where it stated that wager limits were up to whatever one has in their account.

Well, I certainly had the funds to cover a 2 dime play AND it would have been at two different prices.

Is this Olympic's policy for everyone, or do they use discretion as to how much each player can wager online? I'm curious, because almost every other shop will let me place multiple ticket wagers on the same play with much higher limits than what Olympic restricted me to this evening. Attempts to get an answer by phone were unsuccessful, since their "all circuits are busy" message was active on all three phone numbers I attempted with them.

Has anyone else had a similar experience online with Olympic? Are their limits different for each sport?

If anyone from Olympic is out there and can help to clarify your policy regarding online limits, it would be much appreciated. If you'd like to explain in this forum, great, but if you would rather contact me by email, please ask Brian for my address.

    Thanks

I couldn't get through either on their 800#. I called their local number and got through right away. The software works the same for everyone...once the online limit is reached you are shutout.

      Shifty...

You say that once their online limit is reached, the software will prevent you from placing any more wagers. But if the line moves, shouldn't it be reset so that I could play at the new line?

Also, do the same online limits apply to all players, or do they have different limits for different players?

      Thanks for your reply

You're right...they should reprogram their software to allow a second hit after they move the line. I know some other books that have that programmed into their software.

I also had trouble getting through on the phone this evening for about 15 minutes. I also made a max wager and wanted to bet more and the line moved 15 cents so when I finally was able to reach olympic I talked with Spiro and told him my situation he said " no problem buddy our phone lines were down for a while I will give you the old line how much do you want?"

What a class act this guy is. Let me just say I would recommend them for anyone and I love the fact that I can transfer to almost any sportsbook. I have transferred over 10 dimes to 3 different accounts in the past two weeks without any problems.

Also that is the first time I have ran in to a problem with this book.

            Krackman...

Thanks for sharing your info and for expressing continued confidence in Olympic. I'm a relatively new customer with Olympic and have not yet established any personal contacts with them. I make most of my plays online, but if I want more than a dime or so, I like to call in. I'm sorry to have had the experience while the phones were down, since I could have gotten an explanation from them directly and not need to seek clarity via these posts. This thread and your responses, however, helped to clear things up for me. Thanks.

Another good example of players helping players.

Bette, 1500 on a total is very generous for online play, where limits are typically lower than by phone.

There are quire a few books that do not allow multiple wagers, beyond the limit, even after the line moves. I really don't understand the logic on this one, but it is the case.

At any rate, I think Olympic should consider modifying their software to allow it.
