  • Easybets - How professional are they?

Earlier today I place a bet a Easybets on Seattle @ Minnesota Under 9.5 +100.

I come home from work and see an email message with no sender, no subject in my mailbox telling me that my bet was cancelled:

    REASON
    ------
Incorrectly listed pitcher, for the wrong team and home and away, wrong position.
    ---------------------
    BET DETAILS
    ---------------------
    Login ID : AMO39555
    Bet ID : 190751

Event : Seattle Mariners (B Tomko) at Minnesota Twins (B Radke)
    Date : 03 May 2000
    Time : 18:16:33
Selection : Total Score Under 9.50

I thought that one of the starters chanced so I looked around confirmed from 3-4 sources that those guys are still going so I call Easybets on their 1-888 line.

I talk to an operator who I had trouble understaning. He tells me that the game was cancelled because there was a problem with the listed pitchers. I have the printout in front of me of the bet I placed and that's not the case. I have a feeling they are doing this because the line moved to -15 or -130 and they were caught by the steam.

I asked for the Manager who comes on and explains to me that Tomko is the starter for Minensota tonite and Radke is starting for Seattle. That tells me that he has no clue about the stuff he's posting lines on. Then he checks with a couple of other guys there and concludes by telling me that the game is being played in Seattle. That really gets be going...

He then starts telling me that I am wasting his time and their 1-888 phone lines.

After pointing him to places where he could see that the game is in Minnesota he finally enters my bet at the original line and appologizes.

I don't know if I can trust these guys with my money any longer.

    What do you guys think?

BTW, the Manager's name is Dilbert.

DrunkenGoon, Easybets was long ago deleted from the BW Cream of the Crop List as well as being dropped as a site advetiser. If you do a search, you'll figure out that you aren't the first to have problems with them.
Because of the pain they cause players, they should be renamed "Hardbets."

I've had no problems with EasyBets and Still use them, but something weird/funny happenned today. I won a bet for $300, the Cashier shows I was paid $300, yet my balance increased by only $299.99, that's right, ONE STINKIN' PENNY SHORT. Guess I can't say I've never been robbed by an offshore book anymore.

My only problem with them is they reduced my limits to $200! I am pretty sure that is the lowest limit of any online book ...

As long as they pay I guess there is no problem but I would like the people that I trust with my money to at least have an idea of what I am betting on.

not sure about that MLS - have heard about some UK types having theirs reduced to 25 pounds, etc. - probably was mostly horse racing though.......

Drunken Goon, I disagree with your last post. Any book that would cancel that bet can not be trusted. I'd cash out immediately.

You did the right thing by posting this. Now I'm certain I will never sign up with this place.

It's not so much the bet that bothers me. But if one of the managers told me I was wasting his time and their 1-888 lines, then I would IMMEDIATELY askto be put through to the accounts department. I would pull out every cent and make sure that BW members hear the story.

I'm actually still waiting to be 'mistreated' by a sportsbook... all have been good to me thus far...

Cons - just sign up with the big book. You'll be sure to find out what it's like to be mistreated.

I'm really a flexible person. I can understand a book not having certain types of bets, etc., but there's two things for which there are no excuses: rudeness and incompetence.

Any book that treats a customer like trash deserves to lose that customer, and any subsequent customers who is treated this way. With so many books on the market, and competition at an all-time high, it baffles me as to why some sportsbooks act in a rude and arrogant way.

I use 16 outs (4 of those listed below), and all have been top class. If a book ever gives you $hit, don't take it. Take your money back instead.

Easybets "was" one of my first outs. This was the time when you could still count the good ones and quite hesitant to send money to someone you don't know. Easybets is one of the shops who attracted attention from people here in Bettorsworld. Didn't really establish clients since their customer service is way beyond comparison with SOS, INTERTOPS (still good that time), and few of the shops to mention located in Antigua. I had experienced with them very much similar to what happened to DrunkenGoon. I placed a wager on baseball, their was a pitcher changed, my team was ahead by five runs at the bottom of the fourth then when I checked my account, my wager was voided. Cancelling my wager didn't really upset me that much, but I was concerned on when it was cancelled. "Too late". I called Alan Weinrib and of course he explained to me why and very apologotic.

The main question in this thread is "How professional are they". Yes, these people, Alan Weinrib, Roby, Sandra Brown are very professional, but the method of how they run the business has to be improved to stay competitive with others. Besides, having a maximum limit of $250 nowadays is a joke.

If the business was only run properly right from the start, they should had been lots of customers that had stayed with them. I was able to collect up to four figures from them and the only positive comment that I could say is that, THEY PAY AND THEY PAY ON TIME. Good luck to all!!!
