Why don't you mention that reality of the good ol' 80s.
    Reno,
I had the creme de la creme of outs that eventually found their way out to the gentleman that had that problem this week and your friend MJ.
I never got stiffed but i would venture to say the agent in the middle probably blow a ton of his commisions covering players and bm's alike.

I thought I was the only fossil alive that remembered Shoebox. Never knew who he was only moved my line on his plays. I Must have been pretty stupid back then, moved his games a point and they still layed the game. Back then we never believed anyone could beat us on a regular basis. But it was a lot easier then as none of the other stores knew what the other guy was using.

Rumor had it that he got his name from all the money he had hidden in shoeboxes..

              SCOTTY,
              No argument here...
I'd like to ask you two questions?
I made a post in Boomer's post about in progess betting,I would like your take on my post if you would be so kind.
I was involved in a discussion with some people the other night and we were discussing how would you make the line.
Im not comfortable with my take on it but here was my thought.
              A 90 cent favorite.
Divide the price by 9 innings.
              10 cent an inning.
As the game remains scoreless the price decreases 10 cents an inning,if the starter leaves the game scoreless, the adjustment becomes 15-20 cent per inning, depending on who the pitchers are and the price naturally gets adjusted for the score depending on what value you put on a run.
Am I anywhere in the ballpark with this formula?
              Thank you.

Devil...The way I heard it, he carried his handicapping materials in a shoebox while riding on a train. He could fill up a few shoeboxes with $$$ though...Scotty

Reality...I never became involved in prop bets espicially winging it while an event was in progress. I simply would have been a big underdog. There are people out there who have a much better feel and understanding for this situation than I could ever have. I can think of 3 guys I would put up against anybody though. Make that 2 since Joe R died...Scotty

Also the market for this is not that big.

With the Don Best Screen, some money and some smarts, scalping is easier and more lucrative than ever.

The "good old days" is a trick that the mind plays. The mind selectively blocks out past negative experiences and creates a false positive summary image of yesteryear.

Also, deals with sportsbooks still abound. Some enterprising guys I know make a living setting up special deals.

The main problem nowadays isn't making money in sportsbetting; it's making sure the friggin' government doesn't steal it from you.

I bring this back up to the top not only because it pertains to bases, but because this appears to be the thread in which REALITY graduated from small letters to CAPITALS................
