  • Pyramid Sports is no good

i posted here a few weeks back inquiring about this book after i was approached by them to do advertising for them. well, they are beat artists and i fell for it.i sent them some players and here is how it went.

player 1. high roller. calls in a bet for a dime on team a a dime on team b and a dime parlay on team a and b. it hits for 6k. player calls back next day and his account is short the 6k. when he inquires about it the person who took the bet says he never called in the bet...it so happens this player
owns a bar. when he called in the wager i was next to him having a cold drink with foam. i asked the book to pull the tape, told them i was sitting right next to him when he called it in. after all the bull@#$% stories they could'nt find the tape. bottom line player out 6k....3 was mine.

player 2. requested payout of $2300 last Monday April 10th..as of this writing no pay recvd by customer. more bull@#$% stories. he requested another dime yesterday...will advise if he recvd all.

player 3. calls me today. went to close his account for $1700. they tell him they cant pay until after the nba finals. i called pyramid and they hung up on me...not the first time.

player 4. is me. they stiffed me of $1200 in advertising commission. when i called to find out why, the owner Tej,hung up on me and thats that.

i am covering these guys if/when they get stiffed. this has cost me $4200 so far.
these guys are con artists. plain and simple.
i have dealt with most of the major players in this business and can't believe i fell for these clowns.stay away. Mark

Some of these stories get more and more incredible by the week. No one seems to be touching this post with a 10 foot pole so I will.

My question? How did they happen to approach you to advertise or promote for them, and did you personally know them as solid payers before you passed them on to these friends? Seems dangerous to put friends onto books whose background you have no personal experience with. I can recall hearing some problems regarding this outfit a while back either in this forum or an **** column. I believe they were advertising in several major handicapping weeklies and were stiffing people back then.

    Good luck.........Dot

Dot, I agree. It seems that bighands was basically in the position of "agent". An agent with integrity can lose a lot of bucks on a sportsbook that doesn't pay.

There seems to be an Indian connection here. The second name on the resistration has businesses set up in India. Tej Kohli also seems to have a company located there as well.

Here is his company in India.

He was kind enough to post his resume on the site above along with all of the companies he claims to do business with. I am sure he would appreciate you notifying every one of them of his business practices.

            More later...

Sorry to hear about your problems with this particular book, but I too had heard bad things. Judging from your post, I think there's a good chance that we know each other. Is your name Mark and are you from Massachusetts? If you're not who I think you are I apoligize for this question, but if you are who I think, give me a call in my office tomorrow at area code 315-***-**** I'd like to talk to you.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe Pyramid is on the list of books scheduled to go online with instantodds.com. I'm sure if Lou Diamond wants to build a legitimate service that players will take seriously, information like what's been posted in this thread can help them weed out 'bad apples' such as Pyramid. Posting lines for a book with a bad rep will not help build the credibility and confidence that instantodds.com will need in order to gain legitimacy in the line service biz.

If somebody will e-mail me at
JohnnyDeMarco@msn.com with the name of the contact (mgr) at this place I'll check into it. If I think that there is a problem, I'll run these guys out of business on the scorephone. Also include the phone number. I'll do what I can. Maybe I'll get a few more votes!

                        Johnny

You've earned my vote for your willingness to help out in these situations. Your lungs would become one of the "little man's" most powerful asset, when you aim the wrath of your powerful sportsphone upon these scamming, thieving "offshores". Then, we could all, just sort of, write off "Jimmy the Fixer" as the "tax" (on a relative few) that supports the efforts of gamblings newest Ralph Nader. You truly can make a difference. When I look at it that way it's not as revolting.

I've re-assessed some of my opinion of you, and I swear to you as a lady, that you are doing a right thing.

                        Go Johnny go..........Dot

                          johnny,
i sent you the e mail with the info you requested. thanks for your support.i hate when people just dont pay knowing they are not "within arms reach." my customers have contacted the osga and they have received other complaints of no pay.

i wish pyramid would come to this forum and explain their actions. if not they should go on the list. what a bunch of clowns..good luck to all. Mark.

Thanks for the concern and awareness. FTR, InstantOdds.com has never made any contact with this book. At the risk of sounding naiive, I gotta say I've never heard of them before this post. Mark, I hope you get your money and if there's anything that you think I may be able to do to help, please don't hesitate.
