As a sportsbook, is it possible to consistently post different numbers than the competition and survive? I know it must be a great way to drum up business, but wouldn't you end up heavily unbalanced on most of your games and wouldn't your survival depend on how those games fell over the long term? And wouldn't that mean the book was the one doing the gambling?
I'm reading with interest all the talk about Skybook and the fact that almost all the heavy hitters in here seem to be using it as a main out for baseball. That's great for the players and Skybook...but only if they're not onesiding themselves into the ground.
I don't play at Skybook and I don't know how they balance things out...or if they even bother to try, but I am curious about how they make it work.......or whether they're just betting it'll work.
