  • GREED WILL CRUSH THE CARTEL

If the big boys at CRIS, CARIBI, WWTS want to get cute by changing rules and betting regulations they will eventually run themselves right out of business. The entire lifeline of any offshore sportsbook or internet sportsbook is to aquire new customers. All of your current customers will eventually lose, die or find a better deal someplace else. You have to have new blood to survive. The American gambling public is getting smarter by the day. They all shop for the best deals. Loyalty is not as big as it used to be. Sounds to me like they were smoking some pretty powerful dope at that Costa Rica meeting.

Infusion of new blood is essential to all businesses particularly with the competition thats out there in the off-shore sports and gaming industry . Flying high today doesn't guarantee anything for tomorrow unless a business is competitive and customer orientated. I also have a feeling things will get much more difficult for all the books out there when the masses of credit card gamblers max out there cards and start including master Charge , Visa etc. as creditors in all their banruptcies. I would suspect shortly that credit card companies will be excluding or eliminating posting up funds for off-shore gambling endeavors thru existing government pressure and /or recognition that they are not really serving their customers a favor by extending their ability to gamble with credit. Only when that happens remains to be seen. However---when that should occur and the squares who backbone most of these off-shores begin to dry up from lack of credit, or are buried under losses and throw in the towel, the books will all be scurrying to take on the "wise-guys" they now eschew who post up large sums of cash money. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out over time.

Dot, your points are well taken. However there are just so many ways there to get around potential credit card limitations. You could get a cash advance from your credit card and then send it in. Hey I agree with you and have never used credit cards for this stuff. But the amount any individual can get in MC/VISA credit is staggering. One of my office staff is a 23 yr. old college student who has never had a full time job. She has $25,000 in available credit and that doesn't even include dept. store cards. God forbid she ever decides to use it for gambling.
