Now Roger, don't be led down the path Dana at Don Best followed recently.

When you get a post like Ayce's, which has makes little or no sense, why respond??

Your position is understood by 95% of the posters here - as for the 5% who simply cannot comprehend the situation, remember that 5% of the population still believes we never set foot on the moon!

You professionally stated your position, the decision, and the reasons behind it. Now just proceed and ignore the lunatics.

Hartley, I've seen a similar situation at a casino. At Resorts in AC, if you're playing at a $5 crap table and they raise the limit to $10, the players already at the table are allowed to play for $5. New players have to bet $10. The $5 player will always come back to that casino. Another thing, if you've been betting a dime line only up to to -160, you could be doing better. The dime line up to -190 was the industry standard.

Shifty there's a difference. We aren't talking about changing limits but rather increasing vig.

If I was in AC playing craps and the pit boss announced that "any new players at the table will only get 5-6 on the pass line", you would see a mass exodus by any potential newcomers and they would probably be lost for good.

But after reading WWTS' post again I think I misunderstood it the first time. He seems to be stating that the 20 cent line is now the industry standard. As I stated the books I played with at the end of last baseball season - Intertops, WSEX and Bowman's had 10 cent lines.

Which books now plan to offer the 20 cent line? If indeed there is a plan for all books to move to this new line then I apologize.

While WWTS certainly is entitled to market as they see fit, it is very evident that they do not want new customers in baseball. Why is this? I help do the advertising for 3 offshore sports books in Curacao and they all offer a 10% signup bonus and a dime line in baseball. 20 cent baseball lines will send the business back to the illegal guys in the states.

It seems to me that Roger of WWTS doesn't quite understand the 20 cent line is not quite yet the "industry standard". "Industry standard" is very profound wording.

I'll buy into "industry standards" for auto safety, personal protective equiptment, construction and engineering requirements and codes, medical treatments and a host of other important areas the word "standard" applies to. However----to take it upon onesself or even as a group to even think a 2 week old announcement by a group of bookmakers is now an "industry standard" is a very misguided understanding of that words meaning.

There is aready great division over the "yes" and "no" of that 20 cent line by hoardes of books.

All I can say is one thing-------- all you guys out there riding around in expensive cars with Rolex watches and fat off-shore bank accounts should never take for granted or underestimate, the present and future gamblers who got you there.

as mentioned earlier, before you tout a sportsbook for being so great with the ten cent line, find out what their cut-offs are. If it's -140 take back 130, then -150 take back 135, it's not that different from coming out and saying your dealing a 20 cent line.
