Didnt Mel Exber and Jackie Gaughan run a
book together downtown and what was it
called? p.s.-this would have been many years
ago.

If I correctly recall, Mel ran the Las Vegas Club and Jackie the El Cortez.

I think they both ran a sportsbook together
sometime in the early 60's. I know Mel had the LV CLUB(He passed away, correct?) and
Jackie has the COAST properties plus the
UNION PLAZA. BTW, what ever happened to
JACK FRANZI?

Old Man-I didnt hit LV till 1968 but I checked it out. Jackie & Mel were together in the Saratoga Club downtown in the early 60's. It was a real Downtown joint with stadium seats and I do remember it. They were then in the Vegas Club together although I suspect it was Jackies
$$$. Other downtown books were the Derby & Hollywood owned by my old boss Harry Gordon(deceased), The Paddock, LeyRoy's and Jimmy the Greek's...Scotty
