  • CRIS Online

I just got a flyer in the mail stating that CRIS was (finally) online for wagering. A quick look at the site was positive, with a browser-based interface similar to WWTS. This is a long-awaited addition to the online sportsbook list.

. . . nickel limit : (( Not what I'd ultimately expect from an industry leader.

Let's hope that's just during the initial testing period.

Not sure about anyone else - but seemed really slow to me - large number of graphics on home page too

Also, at a quick glance, no line viewing without being a member???????

AV, you're right about the slow. Webpage designers would do well to take a cue from Jay's World Sports Exchange web site, which has a mostly text interface. Not too flashy, but quick.

As far as not being able to see the lines without being a member - at least one can view the lines on one of the Don Best odds services. So there shouldn't be a case of the computer giving different lines to different players.

It was a little slow for me too. Anyway, it's good to see another book go online.

I feel the same way. Cris web site sucks. very slow and they don't offer u any HT or 1st half lines.
                I like there phone service.

I don't understand if they are affiliated with Majestic sportsbook. I see on the net u can bet with both sites with the same account.

I don't think we should trash their first online release. Most sites make improvements after they've had a chance to test it for real, and based on player input.

jinx, I think I remember seeing it stated that ABC bought Majestic, and CRIS bought ABC; but they continue to run separate books under one combined ownership. Maybe someone can confirm or correct me on this.

We're all lucky that they are not using ABC's software. I have found ABC's software very difficult to refresh lines. The software CRIS chose is a good choice. The speed problem is probably bandwidth related, the graphics don't seem that complex.

Geve me plain Jane and fast anyday. I don't need pictures. I tend to bet at the places that are known to be faster if the number is the same. I've got the online cable hook-up, but I remember how slow the phone lines were.

Dana- Sounds exciting! more details please.
Will the player have one account that can be used to bet at the 10-15 different books, if so what entitiy is the account actually with? Sounds like Donbest could be a clearing house type.

I imagine it will just be a link to the books online betting software. Nevertheless I agree that it will be a very nice convenience!
