bworld feels no need to listen to the tapes. it is becoming very clear that the charges were frivilous and unwarranted. they came from a 1st time poster i believe. neither jeff nor i have heard a word since the offer was made.
it appears this individual will not come forward and we see no point in questioning the integrity of bowmans.
it was just a cheap shot that backfired.
we will not justify this in any way including wasting our time on this case any longer.

it is closed and shut unless the accuser comes forward. there is nothing more to be said unless the accuser comes forward.

OK, I realize this guy was taking a shot at Bowmans. I still don't understand how a Book can take a wager and confirm it, then you can go back and cancel it. It is the book's responablility to make sure the limits for each type of play is known by it's clerks and that the lines posted are right. If you take a bet you should honor the bet period! If you are having a problem with bad lines and bad clerks, don't blame your players. Blame your employees.

I'm new to this site, but not new to sportsbetting. First, I'd like to say this is GREAT! A site truly after my own heart. Second, I'd like to say I've been with Bowmans for 9 years and think they are solid. Once, in 1996, I had a 3 team college football parlay accepted for a dime and won. They only credited my account for a nickel's worth of action(their limit). However, after reviewing the tape, gave me full credit and a full apology. First Class.

Excuse me! I'm a significant player in the world of sportsbetting, and I'm going to call a customer back and tell him that my inept
employee, who represents my company, has had a bad day and took a wager that was four times over the limit? Give me a break. What has become of honor, integrity, and customer relations? Think about it!!!!

Misty, I agree. It is too bad if Playday made some claims that weren't quite true. But I can't believe Bowmans would call someone back to reneg on a bet. Especially a situation in which the only error was that the clerk took a bit more than the limit should have allowed. Give me a break, Bowmans.

It's hard to beleive that Bowman can get away with a stunt like that. Doesn't the UK have some kind of gaming commission where the bettor can file a complaint against a bookmaker?

I as well have had an account at Bowmans since the early 90's but haven't used it in the past year as I have found places like Olympic and Pinnacle who offer so many more betting options and don't SWEAT the money. The only thing Bowmans ever had going for it was good customer service and guaranteed payouts and now we see that their customer service is in question.

Just another example of their unwillingness to show some guts in their operation is their decision to not allow side and total parlays in certain hockey games (games with a team favoured by 1.5 goals). I heard that this used to be the case way back in the 80's in Vegas when they didn't know their hockey that well. But we are in year 2000 and if 90% of the books don't see a need to disallow this parlay, I wonder why Bowmans does?

Lastly, I laugh out loud when I hear Gary Bowman give interviews of how he was the pioneer of offshore betting. Well, Gary, that may have been the case, but you are still lost in that age.

Cheers to books like Olympic and Pinnacle who know that gambling requires guts and ba--s.
