  • BEWARE ACTION SPORTS...All sportsbooks and gamblers read this!!!

Everyone who reads my posts here knows I speak the truth and rarely say a bad word about anyone unless it warranted. There is a pariah in the industry giving offshore gaming a bad name and harming everyone's business.

I grew up in New York where the local bookmaker's word was gold. More than the bankers I deal with now, I trusted that if he said I be paid on Monday, even if a hurricane hit, he'd be there. The books growing up in New York were the most honorable people I knew. I'm happy to say that all of the books I deal with now I feel the same way about.

I try to conduct myself in the same manner. When I say something, you can take it to the bank. I don't promise "I'll send 20 dimes tomorrow" if there is a chance I might not be able to for whatever reason. My word is my bond and I learned that from the bookmakers I got to know when I was younger.

I now have many friends who started offshore books with their life savings and they tell me repeatedly, "It's not guys like you who are afraid to send us money, it's the average Joe who posts up $500 or $1,000 and is afraid he won't get paid."

There is this cancer in this industry named Ray Meyers, who owns a book in St. Maarten named Action Sports. I posted up ten dimes with them on January 3, 2000, hoping to take advantage of their -105 juice.

I tried to take a payout for ten dimes a week later, leaving a balance of approximately ten dimes and when the money was not taken out of the account, this Ray Meyers gets on the phone and says "Oh, we don't just send you the money, first we evaluate your account. We see you made 7 plays a day last week, so we are only sending you 6200."

Can you believe the unmitigated gall of this Ray Meyers. Ray, let me tell you, if you EVER want to stay in this business another day, you should ask one question when someone asks for a payout, "WHERE AND HOW DO I SEND THE CHECK?"

I did receive the 6200 and let it slide, but knew I'd keep an eye on this guy, and never let my account get too jacked up. On the 23rd, I requested another payout for 13,969. This time, because I was afraid of trouble, I told the manager when I requested the payout, that I really liked the book and I had a friend who was a big player and I'd tell him about it.

The truth was I had 24 dimes in this place and was very worried about getting paid based on the previous experience. It went well and I received a payout for 13,969. I then tried as hard as heck to lose the last ten dimes I had there by playing middles and trying to handicap a side, but lousy 'capper that I am, I just couldn't do it and gave up.

I then requested a check on February 7 and the manager Dave gets on the phone and tells me this, which is up to now, the most unbelievable thing I have ever heard in my life. "Ray Meyers had to leave the island and he needs to review your account and he won't be back until February 21st."

This Ray Meyers at Action Sports thinks he can operate with impunity because he is in St. Maarten and he has my money. Well, let me tell you something Ray Meyers, I will not stand for your sleazebag confiscation of my money and neither will all the other gamblers and sportsbooks who suffer by your criminal activities.

The fellows that are hard-working and honest, payout without question, and put forth their sweat and hard work to build their businesses don't need the likes of you inhibiting the growth of this industry and the credibility they fought so hard for.

If you have money in Action Sports in St. Maarten, take it out. Reputable sportsbooks, if you know this criminal, tell him to pay me my money and that this type of behavior will not be tolerated.

I did nothing wrong to this guy. I didn't bet steam, I didn't do nothing...but win. Now send me the rest of my money and change your crooked ways.

I loved your post, especially the new york stuff. Myself and my two partners are from new york so I know exactly what you mean. I fell the same way as you do. the problem is we are a dieing breed in this business. A mans word no longer can be law. I have been screwed more ways then you can think of taking a mans word. Its to bad you didnt have this situation in new york. It would have been taken care of by now.
As to our conversation i guess now you understand my side a little better. All these places that offer all these bonuses and gimmicks. Why do they they? How bad do they need your money? Think about it like that. I feel still the way you do. Play with me and the greatest thing I can offer you is you will GET PAID. Never would the thought of not paying a client ever enter my mind.
Today it seems to me there are more sportsbooks out there then people. Its crazy.
All the gimmicks in the world dont guarantee anything. the first and only thing that should matter is will the client get paid no matter what from the particular book. I love the banner wwts uses in this forum. I wish I thought of it. the one knocking all the gimmicks and says something like get real , get paid. Thats how I feel.
Sorry to here your being slowpaid ( I dont think you have been stiffed yet) I think this forum and the guys that run it will help you out. If you do get the money back send it all to me. You know ill never stiff you (lol)

      Good luck Lance

            Lance,

You get that money transferred to Skybook from Action Sports and I will post it all up with you...gladly.

I still feel the best way to deal with an unethical owner like this Ray Meyers is to create a "run" on his book by people who have accounts there, similar to the way people went to banks when they were failing during The Great Depression.

He needs to know there are a thousand good people for every one of him, who will not tolerate his kind and the black eye he puts on this industry.

The offer is good, Lance, you have my permission to get my email address or phone number from the administrators of this site.

Lance, "greatest thing I can offer you is you will GET PAID." To be honest, getting paid is no longer an issue as long as you are selective with your choice of sportsbooks.

But I have to agree with you about the number of books out there. Most of them unlicensed, operating out of dubious places, and with little chance of gaining any recognition from this site.

Once in a while a new guy comes to this forum claiming that he has been stiffed, and the sportsbook he mentioned doesn't even ring a bell. You wonder why he sent the money there in the first place...

But Boomer's an experienced guy, and from what I know he's willing to check out new places, even if it means adding that little measure of risk into the equation. I definitely think he's doing the right thing, because if a books acts in this way then we should all know about it. I'll be steering clear of this one, that's for sure...

so Boomer, you said you were thinking of going to St. Maarten. Maybe you could look these guys up in person, meet Mr. Meyers and ask him personally for your money.

Boomer: The way you're being treated is outrageous and unacceptable. I certainly will not use this book, and if I had an account there already I'd pull it immediately. I'm rooting for you to get every last penny you've got coming. Thank you for alerting us to this place and its antics. Please keep us posted on how things develop. And good luck.

                          Boomer-

Why do you feel the best way to deal with crooked operators who slowpay/dont pay is to create a run on their book? I believe this action to be the most punitive to the book, but also the most punitive to you. If they go bankrupt because of it your not getting your money, if they shut down and stiff everyone, your not getting your money. The only way I could see it helping you is if the book was planning on staying in business and did not want your negative publicity so they payed you off, but at this point the negative publicity probably wouldnt go away even after they paid you.
Anyway, I hope you get your money.

Krackman, all season-long no-juice promo? Who are they kidding?

In my ears that sounds like an alarm bell, telling me to keep away from a place like this...

Maybe you guys are jumping the gun a bit. Sure, Ray is not operating the way CHRIS or another top-notch book would by paying immediately. On the other hand, Boomer has gotten a nice chunk a change from them, after posting a large amount, and Actionsports has never said that it wouldn't pay the balance. I received a small amount from them about a year ago and, admittedly, they didn't seem too eager or delighted to send it. However, I can only assume Boomer will get his money unless the book is going out of business. This forum will help ensure that it does if indeed Action is a "no pay" book.
