Well, bank wires don't normally take so long. I have had numerous bank wires coming from Switzerland to my US bank accounts, and they take 48-72hrs. Any longer and someone if doing things wrong. Either the book is being slow with the payout, claiming that they sent it out Monday when in fact they sent in out Wednesday, or the bank is substandard (at either end). If you're with a good bank, and you know exactly how long these wires take, then it's the books fault if you're made to wait. If all my wires reach me in about 48 hrs, and only those from the books take over seven days, then you know who's guilty.

My bank said if 3 banks are involved Cardlink Internation Bank of Bermuda Citibank it can take 3 business days per bank. Citibank said International bank wires can take 14 days unheard of.

Considering the books are doing things from its end in a timely manner, the focus moves onto the banks.

Maybe it's because of the Caribbean banks, which aren't known world-wide or anything. Also, bringing three banks into the equation would also mess things up. I'm used to transfers between major banks, also referred as clearing banks as they also handle international transactions for smaller banks or building societies. I think there are only four clearing banks in the UK itself. Wires between two major banks should be very fast, 48hrs. But if you're dealing with lesser-known banks, in offshore areas, and also bringing three banks into the picture, then things could take up to a week.

So I wouldn't worry if it takes a week to complete. Personally, I like deposits through bank wires, but refunds through checks. 48hrs and it's at my door.
