Great to see a solid book set to go online.

However I didn't think anyone spoke odds in this prehistoric language anymore!

    e.g.

    1/4 M.Philippoussis v 5/2 A.Ilie

yeah, if offshore, you wouldn't think they'd be catering to the tastes of only the old fashioned poms - although sportingbet list odds like that

Hey guys, what's wrong with fractions? Primary school material, isn't it?

Nothing, I can do it in my head, but not everybody could tell you to 3/4 decimal places what 8/13 is

and whether that is better or worse than 1.59

and decimal odds can confuse norteamericanos.......

Uk is a tad prehistoric, maybe the aristocracy that run the joint gamble in florins or something in gold, and uses them in 12s still, which is why they still want odds in old fashioned numbers

Well, I use either of the three methods, though I personally prefer moneyline. Though for middles I like fraction.

UK is a tad prehistoric because they still use miles, feet, inches, pints, pounds, etc. It seems like they are still in the 20th century or something. But the exact same thing can be said about the US.

Australia did things right by changing to the metric system overnight. Sometime in the 70's , all road signs went down and were replaced by new ones overnight. And now, Australia can say it's civilised enough to use the metric system.

Unfortunately, the UK and US still remain in the Stone Age...

How about €? Euro will be the local currency in less than 2 years so I might as well start using that.. and it's already in use.

Which books accept account in Euro?

                          Gregg,

I have no problem with hiccups in development, that is to be expected - just am disappointed in the lack of soccer offerings available for single games - so very rarely will be interested from that point of view - not sure if there will be anything else on offer to make it interesting - offering tennis odds on all tournaments or something might make me change my mind perhaps - or having a bit of variety in US sports odds, but nothing I had read on the web previously led me to the impression that the trebles only junk etc. would happen

I have never ranted before in this forum, but I am going to do so now!!!

Gregg could you please explain why your online site which "is specifically designed to cater for the European market" has vastly different juice on the 72-hole golf bets from those with your International Superbook.

                            An example:

Online European site: Furyk 5/6 [-120] vs Lehman 5/6 [-120] with tie 16/1

Superbook site: Furyk -110 vs Lehman -110 with tie 16/1.

It is the same line for five of the six matchups and on the other you have:

Online European site: Mickelson 8/11 [-138] vs Leonard 1/1 [+100] with 16/1 tie

Superbook site: Mickelson -125 vs Leonard +105 with 16/1.

Do you think we Europeans are so gullible that we won't notice this! What do you take us for??

If you don't want us to judge you just yet, you have to give us good reason to put up with this. I was looking forward to your site coming online because of the coverage you give to golf events, but I ain't going to be taken for a ride. I think there's some explaining to do, Gregg!

I'm with you all the way Fin. The Euro is the way. In the next year I will be converting all my accounts into this currency.

Stanley, there have always been difference between the normal site and "Superbook." Gregg/Chris have introduced soccer betting to Superbook customers at recuced vig. That's one of the main advantages of being with the US section. I see what you mean with the different odds and such, but placing your bets with superbook is the only solution for the time being.

But to be honest I am wondering if the "priviledges" we get as superbook customers will carry over to the online section...

Thanks for the reply Cons, but the fact that they do it so deliberately just makes it worse! This is a case of dealing double lines. One set for those who phoned the international number and another for those who phoned the British/European number.

It's fine for Euros like us who visit these forums and are aware of the "privileges" of being with the US section, but the ordinary Euro punter is getting a raw deal here!

But to be honest I had never noticed any difference between the golf lines in fractions on the victorchandler.com site and the moneyline odds on the superbook.com site before they went online. I bookmarked the superbook site and usually went there to see the lines. Hence my shock at the introduction of 'usual practise' into the golf lines.

Just because it has always existed doesn't make it right and the fact that they've extended that practise to other sports now that they're online is a worrying development.
