  • Re: VC Online Betting

We note it says online betting is now available on their International site. Great stuff.

Has anyone used it? I can't seem to connect (load the page up). I'm wondering if the browser has to be specially configured or something.

I would call them and ask what's what but I was hoping somebody here could just say what they did to log-in because:

    1) I have a single phoneline in my house, so everytime their tech support would say "try this" I'd have to then hang up to try it;

    2) My computer predates the fall of Carthage, so I'm wondering if this is one route on the information highway that my piece of road lice is not cleared to navigate.

Anyway this online betting is going to be very cool for soccer because it means I won't have to phone in bets on early kickoffs the night before.

    Thanks,
    Shawn

    I just took a look.

I believe it hasn't been 100% completed yet. Haven't seen any odds for matches, just some futures.

BTW, they didn't even decide the minimum bet and the minimum deposit amount yet.

    It shows a ? there.

Well, lets wait and see for another week, I'm sure they are coming.

Are they online already? It's about time. I talked them about it a few months ago and they said that it will be available to the UK section first, which means we will not be able to get the 20-cent lines on some props. Also, the plans are for it to combine both sections, and even then it was unclear if we would still get what we're getting right now.

But just for straight 3-way action or other sports it might be useful.

I hope Chris makes a post here and answers some of the question marks that remain.

I joined via website yesterday. There was a little glitch in e-mail of password. That was straightened out this morning. Deposits and wagering are all in sterling. They claim within a couple of weeks that US$ will be available. Was able to place wagers online. I signed up mainly for golf matchups. If anyone wants info or status about my experiences w/them, just ask...

Evil STERLING!!! Shame on you AV!!! Just kidding...

Hey, it's about time they went online. I just signed up five minuted ago. All my accounts are in Sterling, so this is not a problem, but for those with a braincell count or three digits or more it is no secret that the best way to go is to change all accounts to the Euro currency.

Compared to the US dollar, the Euro will make at least ten percent just on the exchange rate. Stick to the future, stick to the EURO. Don't say I didn't warn you...

                AV,

I joined through the website. When you join they generate an account # for you instantaneously. They ask for E-mail address and state that a password will be sent.

The password was not sent by the next morning, so I called. The customer service was efficient. He contacted their IT department, who generated a password and E-mailed it to me within a couple of minutes. btw, they will not send it to a hotmail address.

Once I got the password and logged in, I was able to deposit via credit card. No problems there. In fact it took about 1 minute. Again, the ony problem was that I had to enter the amount in Sterling.

I was able to place my golf wagers.

Their webite software is different than alot of the others. Like it so far. Have only plaed a couple of bets so far though.....

                hope this helps.

                  Fats,

other than golf matchups, hwat else betting ptions did you see there, besides the futures?

For example, any NFL games, NBA games, NHL games, college games, soccer, etc. (not futures).

Do you know their minimum per bet?

                    AV,

Australian banks should be able to do accounts in Euros, or nay other foreign currency for that matter. Aussie banks are some of the best in the world, much better than their US or even English counterparts. I have never seen such professional service as you get at the major Australian banks.

Fatboy, I used hotmail and it worked for me.

Ray, don't know about min, might be 25 pounds though as they mentioned this being the minimum amount to open accounts with.

It's not clear what the minimum bet is but if you can open for 25 quid, one would have to think the bet minimum would be less again. (EG the American phone service is $300 to open, but only $50 per bet.)

I am going to wait for USD accounts and for any "early bugs" (if there are any at all) to be ironed out before I sign up I think.

                        ray, they have nfl listed as an option, but no games offered. Their listed options are;

                        Formula 1
                        Golf horse racing
                        ice hockey - no nhl
                        misc
                        nfl - nothing listed
                        rugby league
                        rugby union
                        snooker
                        tennis

I think you can go to the website and view the lines as a guest. Not sure of minimum bet either. Really just added these guys exclusively for golf though.

Cons, they told me no hotmail E-mail accounts. Didn't matter to me since I'm not using hotmail.

There seems to be a problem with their tennis odds. They can be seen at both their Euro and US sections, but are not available online.

Also, no handicap soccer lines, which leaves their future in doubt.

The tennis lines are probably not up b/c the online operation is only open from 11am to 6om CET at the moment.

FatBoy - thanks for the info

not really a big deal if no hotmail accounts, there are about a bazillion free email providers now

                              from if I wanted rscott@blueshockey.com

to the odd Norwegian freemail service that I know of, so that could easily be got around, no way they could keep up with it
