  • Books that pay selectively...

Countless times on this forum I've come across posts claiming that certain books don't pay. These people claim that they've tried everything, and that the book in question is giving them the run-a-round and refuses to pay-up.

But once they post here, the strength of the forum takes over and these people usually get their money back, along with a big "apology" from the book.

What I'm wondering is how many books refuse to pay and stiff clients that have no knowledge of places like b'world. For some reason, I believe that some of these books decided to pay simply because the guy brought up the issue here at BW. Really, how many times has someone come here and complained that he has tried everything but to no avail. And suddenly, because he posted his case here, the situation is resolved.

But there must be countless others who are getting stiffed, and there's nothing they can do about it if they haven't heard of Bettorsworld or a similar organisation. I'm sure there are numerous people who have been ripped-off and have no clue what to do. We often hear about the ones who make it here, tell their story, and miracles happen.

But for some reason I believe there's many out there that are left out in the open. I think we should keep an eye out for such people, and any book that only begins to resolve a situation only once it is brought up in the forum, should be looked at closely.

    cons,

you have a point but let me throw this out to the forum.

it is always suspect to me when someone comes in screaming and yelling that a book does not pay or is not paying them.
i ask myself the question "if they are really worried about getting there money then why not use our inquiry forum?
the inquiry forum is a much more effective way to resolve any problems a player or sportsbook might be having.
to simply come into this forum and headline a book for not paying is suspect right off the bat. with the many shills around it simply does not seem that going that route would be all that effective. after all, the damage has been done to the book whether the player is telling the truth or not.
the book takes a beating when it is sometimes not deserved.
i have been in contact with sportbet and it appears very possibly such is the case here.
when i get the facts and talk to oddswiz, the facts will become clear.
let us be fair to the books as well as the players.
bikerboy has posted in this forum a total of 4 times. each time he has hammered a book for what he claims is less than a-1 service.
NEVER has he approached bettorsworld to go to bat for him. he has opted to use this forum wildly for reasons i believe go beyond whether he is actually getting paid or not.

people that have come to jeff/brian to have a problem resolved will tell you the success rate is very high-no matter who was in the right. players that choose to post a big headline that rips a book have taken the proverbial hammer out of our hands. below is the actual story of bikerboy

The redemption bikerboy received was half of the funds, sportbet had a conference call with the bank and bikerboy and the bank took
responsibility for the error. They sent the incorrect amount. The bank
then sent the remainder of the funds and he (bikerboy) had the funds in his
account when he posted the thread on bw.

Sportbet confirmed this and when they
spoke to him he then told sportbet he would make a favorable posting if they gave
him bonuses, even though he had the funds at the time of the negative
    posting.

I’d like to toss in my opinion here. I certainly see bgeorgia’s point, but in a way I prefer that the complaints get aired in the “rants and raves” forum, rather than being handled more discreetly. I like to know who’s being accused of what, what the evidence is, what’s already been tried, how the book has responded, etc. Then I like to follow how it plays itself out after the complaint is brought to this forum.

Granted, this opens up the forum to bogus complaints, but that’s where the Bettorsworld veterans and administrators (and even the accused book itself) come in. When a suspicious complaint is made by a potential shill, they are quick to jump in and alert the forum to what might be going on. And that’s the way it should be. Even in the case of potentially bogus complaints, I’d rather hear both sides. If the book is being wrongfully accused, let their vindication be as open and public as the original accusation.

It's an old principle of civil libertarians that the best response to objectionable or allegedly false speech is not to block that speech, but to counter it with the truth.

Have faith in the Bettorsworld audience to be able to sift through the claims of both sides and determine for themselves how to assess these situations.

bgeorgia, I am really angry about this. These people at Sportbet made me call them a total of 16 times and spend three hours over three weeks trying to get the problem fixed. I called my bank two times a day every day for the last three weeks and the money was never there. I ordered $3,230 on December 21st and on December 23 only 1480 came in.

What totally pisses me off is that Javier Fernando, their accountant insisted I got the whole amount three weeks ago until I put him on the phone with my banker which took two weeks. Only when I put the writing on Bettorsworld did the monies miraculously appear in my bank, not the day before. They put me through hell, so I asked for a bonus for my trouble, I logged everything I did with them including time spent on the phone and names I spoke to. Yet the only response that was positive was after I put the post in. Why did I have to call 15 times. I offered them a chance to make it right with a bonus after they told me the problem was with my bank. They chose not to, then I won't play there anymore. Too many good books out there.

But believe me, I didn't do anything wrong. Do yourself a favor bgeorgia, tell them you have a problem getting paid and see how long they put you on hold. I CALLED 15 TIMES AND SPENT THREE HOURS ON THE PHONE!!!

I agree with Zippy, and bikerboy. Until Island Casino and Sportbet.com improve their pay-outs and customer service, they deserve to get reamed in this forum. Those of us who are BTW "regulars" can usually separate bogus rants and raves from the truth. Over time, reputations are established or tarnished in this forum. And that is the way it should be.

IMO, all it should take to get a payout is one quick phone call. If it takes any more than that, then the books is not worth being with. Every one of my outs will get the check in the mail after a single phone call from me. If I have to call twice, there better be a damn good reason why I should have to.

If a book makes you call numerous times and makes it a hassle, then get your money, close your account, and inform us about them so that we can steer clear.

Agreed. It is very simple. We send them the funds in less than 15 minutes then we should get it back in the same way. No more, no less.
