  • Sportbet No Pay

    I've been trying to collect from Sportbet on a bank wire from December. Since I had trouble with another book, I logged down my info this time.

    As of now, I have made 13 phone calls and spent 2 hours 45 minutes on the phone with no success. These guys are the worst. I'll never use them again. They don't pay.

      Sportbet.com and its "sister" book, Island Casino, need to get it together regarding pay-outs. If CRIS, which is also in Costa Rica, can get pay-outs to me in 1-2 days, then these books should also be able to do it. It is bad enough that they only do pay-outs on Monday. The least they can do is pay more quickly. As I've stated before, these books need to get a competent customer service department with a separate phone number from the betting line.

        Although they do seem a bit careless and remedial in their payout procedure, my episode at least ended on a positive note, and gave me increased faith in their outfit. I requested a credit of 2,000 back to my card on Monday 12/21, their only designated processing day for payouts; however, when the credit showed up (on Thursday, 12/30), it was for only 200. I immediately called and yes, was disconnected from their side. My second call was forwarded to their accounting dept, where a polite lady informed me that the clerk entered 200, and not 2000, when interfacing with the third-party merchant. She told me that she will e-mail the merchant to expedite the payout process, so that I may get it within 5-7 business days. Well, she must've fulfilled that promise, because my credit showed up next Tues. morning, only 3 business days later. BTW, I also requested a FedEx payout on Monday, 12/27, and received it Thursday, 12/29.
        Bottomline: no sportsbook is utopia. I would also like Sportbet to improve on their payouts, arguably a book's most important area of operation, but at the same time I believe in their desire for increased credibility. And just in case any of you have a temporal propensity for hositility, I say this - CHILL THE HELL OUT, DAMMIT! (note the irony). Customer service is really a two-way street, and I found that cordiality is always met with a better response. Besides, you can always take your money elswhere, although I will most likely hold on to Sportbet (I like aesthically displeasing, yet efficient approaches to online wagering, which, in my opinion, is what they offer). Good luck, fellas; they're some nice NBA totals out there waiting to be abused.

          The problem at Sportbet was resolved today. Do yourself a favor, Sportbet, and when a person says they have a problem, don't leave him on hold 10-20 minutes every time he calls in. It makes a bad problem worse. You should have a designated person to talk to when there is a payout problem and start off by giving the customer the benefit of the doubt. No one has the time or desire to go through the hassle you put me through. Peace
