  • BOO to Olympic!

I tried to get lines on the matchups on the Mercedes Golf all last nite, only to be told by the incompetent operators that there were no matchups and no odds for this tournament. What's going on with this book?

Don't take them wrong. Many sportsbooks have different types of organizational priorities.
Golf may not have been on the top of their priority list that particular day. If I'm not mistaken there are only a handfull of sportsbooks that deal in what we call exotics such as golf, nascar, horses etc. The SB that always tries to comply clients is Pinnacle. If they don't have it up, most of the times they will make one on the spot.

Rigo, I think that spartan's point is they say they offer golf, and this is an above average PGA tour event "prestige" and field strength-wise, so why no lines. Consistency is the name of the game! If they say they offer golf - then they should do so or stop advertising it ( if they are ). Just because they are exotics, to some, is no excuse.

I have nothing against Olympic - as I have never used them, I may even post up with them soon for hoops. But several of my outs, including ones I am only with to play golf, also didn't post lines for this event. This isn't some "funny money" event, and most books did offer a full slate of lines, so it doesn't make sense. Here's where 5dimes shown threw as they offered over 40 matchups. Either consistently offer the sport, or don't advertise it! Several of my outs were advertising ALL FOURTH ROUND MATCHUPS LONG ( as in many months )after they had stopped offering ANY 4th round matchups. This is false advertising and I think it sucks that they would use it to attract customers and then "pull the rug out" so to speak! I am not saying Olympic is guilty of this, I don't know what they say they offer for golf, but it is analogous to sparty's complaint.

Rigo, on the one hand I have to agree with Buckeye. If you offer a sport, do it consistantly. I find a sportsbook is only as good as their word.
While on the other hand I must agree with Rigo when he says that Pinnacle does go out of their way to please their clients. I've been with Pinnacle now for 5 months and I've noticed that if for some weird reason they don't offer what you're looking for (within reason of course). . . ask and you have a good chance of getting it.
