    are they secure??

  • #2
Secure is an understatement. These guys are as safe as it gets in this industry. They are licensed in Britain (the best place to be licensed, worldwide), are a publicly-traded company, and are growing into one of Britain's major sportsbooks. Their turnover is huge already, and it ain't stopping there.

Out of all the books I can think of, I think Sportingbet has the brightest future ahead of them.

100% safe, I can vouch for that. But check out the betting options for yourself to see if this is the right book for you.

Midnight, I just joined them yesterday after starting up my Intertops account again. Sportingbet has given me the best first impression of any sportsbook with whom I have dealt. Their phone lines and CS reps are crisp and clear (so far, two pleasant and articulate voices, one of each gender), and you just can't help but feel secure with their location and public status. For CC deposits, there is a 4% service charge, but they reimburse you for that amount (i.e. 1000 + $40 charge = 1040 in wagering account). I feel just about as comfortable with Intertops, but they do not reimburse you for that same convenience charge, whatever these books mean by that term. I just saw a post by a man named Mark Blanford, and a reply followed (Sting? reno?), stating that this man is the site's president, and M.B. never acknowledged that in his post. Not that there's anything reprehensible with self-promotion, but there's a certain classiness about posting for the sake of facilitating assistance, without plugging one's primary interests. That, and further research, is what prompted me to join their book. Later...

No one who regularly reads Bettorsworld has any doubt about Sportingbet.com being super-solid. The pertinent question regarding them is their limits on American sports. If I remember correctly, last baseball season they had very low limits. If they want to move into the upper echelon of offshore books, they will have to take at least a few dimes on baseball sides.

With regards to our maximum limits for baseball. Last year, as a new company, our strict licensing regulations would not permit us to accept wagers that would give a win amount more than $2000.00 on a single wager on the side in baseball.

These strict regulations listed in our licence by the States of Alderney are in place in order to protect our customers in addition to protecting ourselves as a Company.

We have now been operating successfully for nearly 15 months as www.sportingbet.com and this has allowed us to increase our baseball limits this year. For bets on the side in baseball (10 cent line), you can bet to win $3000.00.

I also second the raves on Sportingbet. I've been playing with them for about six months now, and have really enjoyed doing business with them. Both e-mail and phone support requests have been met with prompt, curteous service. Lines are their own, not CRIS. Limits are generous for internet wagers.
