  • Another ?? for Premiere League

    Just wondering.....

Any progress with the online credit card deposit screen?

Lately, my P.L. account has been sitting on empty largely due to the fact that over the last 3-4 weeks we just can't seem to get credit posted up with my credit card. We've tried that route both online and on the phone many times and the only thing we seem to accomplish is to generate fraud inquiries from my credit card company.

(I've tried the online screen and typed my info EXACTLY as it appears on the bill with close to 20 varibles, including such small issues as commas and caps.)

I really like your book and would like to give my account there some Thanksgiving weekend action.

    Anything else we could try?

    Thanks.

        Don't thank me yet.......

Still wrestling with the process. I've been in contact with my credit company and
Premiere League multiple times today and we're still running into snags.

I'll post here later, when and if the situation is resolved.

(I'm starting to think it's better to leave my card out of this altogether. It's the ahem, "convenience" that has me trying it at all)

I should know once and for all this afternoon. Stay tuned......

          Ugh......

          Forget it.

It ain't happening. Not sure what the problem is, but it just isn't working with me.

I called the credit Co and they said the transaction was approved and awaiting a ("D.O.A.") call from P.League. P.League calls and says their getting the run-around from the card Co.

Anyone have any success with this? I've tried all day on two different occasions and have had zero luck. (not including a few occasional "feeler" tries inbetween) Online, on the phone, whatever.....I give up.

I only hope that an actual "credit card thief" would be similarly thwarted.

          Good Luck.

            Guys

To clarify the issue, here goes!

Our credit card processing system, not unlike that used by any of the other books on island, performs three functions, Authorization, Score and Billing. When a client runs their card online the system first gets an authorization from the client's bank. Once authorized those funds will be set aside by your bank awaiting billing. The software then performs a score check, that is, it will then check your card information and verify that all of your address info, phone # etc is EXACTLY as stated on your billing statement. This score is a graded in terms of points. A threshold level of allowable points is preset in the software. The higher the score the more likely it is to fail. If for example, your name does not appear in your email address, your score is bumped up a few points. If all checks out your transaction will be scored approved and then it is billed. If there is the slightest piece of incorrect information, the transaction will score very high and be kicked out and no further action will be taken. Meanwhile the authorization will remain for a few days by bank to allow for billing. When the transaction doesn't bill in a few days the authorization falls off. The unfortunate situation many people end up with is they try to run the process several times, each time scoring out and placing further authorizations on their card and tie up their available credit.

Another failure that occurs is one where the customer's bank fails to authorize the transaction because the charge is being placed by an overseas bank (Denmark based). Your bank refuses the authorization only for your protection and not because you have no available credit. At this juncture we recommend you first call your bank and inform them that you intend to place the charge with Premiere League and ensure they will approve the transaction when it is requested.

If you guys think you're frustrated over these transactions, can you imagine how do you think we feel??

It is so important that the information you include on our online form is absolutely correct!

            Hope this helps!!

            Thanks Again

              Understood.
Actually, I'm not as frustrated as you may think, mostly curious to see if this problem is wide spread, or if "it's just me". I think you've answered that.

Not much of a problem really. It's probably best for me to leave my credit card out of our transactions, for now anyway. I was looking for an added convenience, but it's not a fatal flaw.

I still think that you have a fine book and plan to continue wagering there. I still recommend you to anyone who asks me.

It's probably good that the bettors here in B-World who have considered the same route, are aware and can anticipate that these credit card transactions may likely run into a few snags on initial attempts.
(I think I know what the problem here is)

Perhaps when you get set up with American Express I'll try again.

I really had no idea at how troublesome the transaction could be, especially after calling the credit Co and supposedly "clearing" it myself.

Anyway, I'd rather have these fraud controls in place than not.

              Good Luck and thanks anyway.

By the way, since I've got you here.........

Got another valid question for ya.

What happens to all the info we've exchanged over the last couple days regaring my personal info and credit account?

Thanks for your prompt attention and sincere response.

                Hi JD

We keep a record of each transaction; that is, all the info filled out on the form. Legally we are required to keep this information for reconcilliation purposes. Any other personal information would have been discarded. All saved information however is kept on a secure server.
