Couldn't agree more. I know they have had some tech problems, but they get an F in customer service in dealing with them. Most of operators are in the drk about the web problems and make it worse by saying it will be up in an hour. The only reason I even gave this place a pop was the square numbers they use. Low limits, terrible tech reliability and dismal customer service. What a waste of time.

Why anyone would risk using new software in the middle of football season is beyond me.

You guys can't be more right. The Big Book sucks. With their football line of ex. -8
-150, I don't even get how they make any money. Any company that tests new software in the middle of the high season, doesn't have an ounce of brain and I wouldn't trust them with 20 cents. I did try them out because of the famous free $20 but those are the most expensive free $20 I ever had. The person who runs that book must first learn something about the business before running the place. It's like a basketball player playing football although he can imitate some moves, he has no idea how to play the game.
Some examples on other things, can't bet hockey over the phone (why? no money to hire enough people to answer the phone?) Always getting placed on hold when you do call in. Software is always down new or old. The guy that answers the emails will never take a call (afraid to face a customer?), 20cent baseball lines, I had a friend that won like $6000 after loosing like $1300 and all of a sudden he is a VIP customer with a max limit of $500 and can't place bets over the Internet (please give me a break, what are they so afraid of, if they want a safe business where they will never loose money they should go into the supermarket business not the sportsbook business.)

Well I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. If you are smart don't ever bet with The Big Book. There are a lot of other books out there which are so good. wsex, chris, moneyplays, enterbet, goto, never had problems with them and never heard of bad things either.

I'm sorry to have to agree. When they updated their software to allow WEBTV users to bet online, I was thrilled, and when it works, it's great, BUT it works about half the time at best. I'll keep my account because they have the abolute best lines for anti public playing, and they pay, but they really have to get their software act together.

Guesser, what's your opinion of e-banx? Can't exactly say why, but I don't like the idea of getting my credit card involved in betting. Also, could you explain a little about how the software problems impact the customer? I've been on the verge of signing on with BB for the reason you mention, those square lines, but naturally put off by this thread. Since you're planning on staying on on with them, could you point me toward the best way to deal with their downside?

                CZ:
I have had no problems with E-Banx, nor using my credit card with them. They charge no fee for CC use and they charge back to the CC when I request a withdrawal. The software problems cause their online betting to be down WAY to often, and their phone lines are extremely busy when that happens, especially at crunch time. If you're willing to put up with this, it's worth keeping some $$$ there to get the square lines WHEN/IF you can take advantage of them, as it does sometimes work. Hopefully the software will become less buggy over time.

                    CZ,

I think your adversity to getting credit cards involved in your wagering is probably the same as mine, and it has nothing to do with fees....but anyways, my opinion would be to steer clear of Big Book. I was interested in signing up with them about 6 or 8 months ago, called them up, and spoke to some clown, who while trying to "sell" me on his book, also was eating his lunch at the same time. After a couple of intermittant belches, I somehow lost interest. Also, a buddy of mine was with them for awhile and had the same problems Rick mentioned. There was always somthing with them. Discrepancies on bets, software down, new software, bad CS, on an on. Square lines or not, not worth it in my "book"

Thanks guys. Don't know what to do now. Those lines have to be worth a couple of wins a year in the NFL. Could live with the rudeness and the site crashes for that, but not sure about the "lost" bets. Maybe next year. Hope someone will post if they get it together.

have only tried to access them a few times lately, still have enough in there for a silly parlay or two, but have not been able to get in usually, or really slow - no need to use them as far as I can see

as far as the credit card thing goes, probably pretty dangerous using them in a US department store at xmas, too, with the number of people that could get it, or cheques, etc., but I agree that the Big Book does not inspire confidence

I did ask for money back at one stage and they recredited credit card for deposit, that worked fine, but because I was 'foreign', they wanted several identification papers to send the cash for the rest

You guys are 100% correct, I was only with them for about 2 months and I was out of there, I kept trying to give them chances, but they seemed to get worse. They also won't stop sending there e-mails. I have to put a block on them so I won't get any more garbage from them. I joined them over a year ago and from day one I couldn't wait to make some money and then split, they have 0 to offer even the average bettor. I could go on and on but I think everyone has coved it, they are horrid.

I have a question, has anybody talked to the owners about this? What do they have to say about it? I would sure love to hear the reason of the new software at this point and of all the other issues mentioned here.

Why would we want to talk to the owners? If these people don't know how to run a decent sports book why would anyone waste their time educating them?

This kind of thing is good for all of us, because it tell us these people are not the type of people some of us want taking our action! If books do little things wrong, they probably are doing some big things wrong also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
