  • Quick Credit Card deposit questions

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I don't recall the threads.
I'm considering trying something that I never would have considered only a year ago, weighing it now mostly out of convenience.

    Credit card deposit's offshore.......

    1) I assume that the crdit card companies charge this as a "cash withdrawal"? (thus charging 20% interest on the amount until the ENTIRE card balance is paid to zero)

    2) Safety. Anyone experience problems?

Initially, I'm considering testing out Preimere League's online deposit.

    Experiences? Comments?

    Thanks.

WSEX, Carib, ABC Islands, Big Book, Millennium, and The Starnet Books charge Your Card as a Purchase, but it's more up to the Card's Bank as to how they actally charge you. All the above, except Carib, charge NO Fee, Carib charges 2.5%. I know the Starnet Books will refund the Charge if Your Credit Card charges it as a Cash Advance. Just call them up and send them a copy of your bill when you get it.

          Hi JD et all

Our online processing center charges your card as a purchase, not as a cash advance. We also do not charge any fees for credit card deposits.

          Best Wishes

Great. Thanks Premiere League, Mav and Guesser for you prompt responses. Sounds pretty convenient so far. I must admit, Premiere League is consistantly in front of the customer service and convenience race, constantly upgrading and trying new concepts. It does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Thanks.

(Mav#1, If I was alone on the credit card, I'd pay it off each month also as is my preference, however my wife.......well, lets just say that we've been carrying a balance lately. My Am-Ex card is mine alone and is the card I'd prefer to use, but it seems that no one accepts it.)

OK now, how about SAFETY?? Anyone have their card # exposed and/or suddenly started to get shady purchases, charges or bills appearing on it?

Lastly, Maverick#1, When you receive a credit card "payout", how do you collect the credited amount off the card? Bank, ATM?? Are there additional charges from the bank?

Again, I appreciate your time in responding to my questions. I like to get a feel off the experiences of my (wagering) peers before diving in on a new concept (to me). Credit card secutity makes me nervous, so I need to be quite confident before trying something new with it.

            Thanks.

(pardon me for playing with the new O-Wiz, posting editing option)

I've used my credit card, for virtually all my deposits and have never had any shady goings on. Once, a Starnet book double billed me but, they credited it back when I called.

              I would suggest that you make sure any credit card deposits are treated as purchases and not as cash advances. Also, make sure they do not charge a Fee for using credit cards;

              I have used the following;

              No fee, treated as purchase:
              Aces (Starnet)
              Wsex
              Sportingbet
              SportBet(IGN)
              VIP

              Fee:
              canbet 2%
              easybets 4%
sos: 4% --> but they wil credit back $15 for deposits >= $500. So, if you deposit $500 at a time, it only costs $5.

                    Hi JD

We are currently working on setting up with a processor that will allow us to accept AMEX and Discover. Unfortunately we can't say how soon this processor will have us up and running; but we are hoping for the end of November 99.

                    Take Care

JD- Had the same thought 2 weeks ago, just opened an account at Olympic via credit card.
                      Some of this might help.

Deposits are credited as a purchase from what I can tell, I called the 800# on my card and it was exactly the amount I set up the account for.

10% bonus on initial deposit. Not sure how long you must remain a member, but most books won't let you keep the bonus if you make a few quick plays and close the account from what I've read here at BW...which is fair.

Payouts are as follows...the initial deposit paid back to the credit card as a "credit". The remaining winnings are sent via FedEx minus $25 fee (overnight delivery), providing you call early enough in the day to request a payout. Sounds fair to me.

I haven't been paid yet, still building the bankroll(the fight tip helped..thanks again)
but from what others have posted there aren't
                      any problems with that.

Their phone operators won't win any awards, but I only wager online, no reason to call anything in...I have local outs for that.

$5 minimum bet online, so you can make those $10-$20 "fun" bets. They have half-time, quarter lines, team totals, prop bets on Sun & Mon night football, also props on some major college The web interface they use is outstanding, no downloads. I've very pleased, but haven't asked to be paid yet so the jury must still remain out and I can't give a total endorsement.

                      Their web address is www.thegreek.com.

Good luck...also I did a search on Olympic in the posting forums, nothing scary came up.
