Right now I'm just working on soccer lines. I don't know all the ins and outs of policy and mechanics so I don't want to speculate.

Shawn, are you actually moving to Curacao? Or are you going to still be based in Canada?

I might open up in the very near future. I hope Asian lines and totals show up, as well as other useful bets: advancement to the next round (maybe in time for EURO 2000 playoffs, CL and UEFA Cup), props (?), grand salami in PL. Just a few thoughts on how to make your job tougher...

Just a thought! I seem to remember you and others constantly asking me a while ago to do twenty cent line for all Asian lines and totals. I did so only to find that you immediately start your career going 25 cents as soon as the favourite hits
-140. 'Practise what you preach' I believe is the phrase I am looking for.

Chris: We are not offering Asian Lines or Totals just yet; we're building our bet offers a piece at a time. Our half-goal lines are among the best around for punters. One thing we are trying to do is sometimes go to -1.5 goals because, agreed, punters might not find the margin attractive when the favourite is really short -.5 goals.

Cons: It would be great to have you aboard. If we got a handful of clients reading here in Bettorsworld I would post the lines here each and every week at the earliest opportunity. We are starting to cover Real Madrid Cup (aka UEFA CL) with the same half-goal lines and will have those Euro 2000 bets as matchday approaches. I hadn't thought of a Premiership Salami but when the totals kick in this is an intriguing thought indeed.

I think you just crossed that line, you know the answer to your question, why push the others to the edge as you won't have any benefit out of it?

On the same token, if Jphan can offer 10 cents Asian lines, why wouldn't VC offer the same thing?

VC Index does the grand salami, like yesterday's 20-21.

Chris, can I make a bet on the grand salami through Superbook? Or do I have to open up with VC Index? I would much rather be able to play out my bets from one account, as opening up another account might be tedious. Can we make spread bets through you? If not, then will we be able to once you're online? And as AV asked, when are you going online?

Chris: It's our first week. My first priority is to create solid lines that are competitive with other quality shops offering half-goal lines (Canbet, Megasports, and so on...). I think we've done that. We will perfect line-breaks in time. I know you guys used to post totals on the website at 1.85 each side and now it's 1.80. Like VC, we will continually try to offer punters the best value we can offer as we grow. I'll look at your idea immediately.

To Chris on a Personal Note: As a player at your shop there's do doubt I appreciate your 20-cent Asians and totals, especially since the totals you hang out to the public are 50-centers currently. Thanks for trying to accommodate our slice of the market.

To Everybody Else: I appreciate the defence, guys. Let's keep in mind at all times that Victor Chandler is a top-quality shop and Chris has distinguished himself by repeatedly coming in here over the last year to answer our questions (eg he was the first to give a detailed explanation of the Asian Line), try to accommodate us (eg chopping the juice on his totals), and explaining his office's policies (eg Holyfield--Lewis). If someone can say about me next year what I can say about Chris now I'll be pretty pleased about myself. Chris has been at this a long time and I read every post he makes with interest. Now I also get to consider his suggestions.
