  • A question to the forum

I was hoping some of the regulars here on BW could offer their opinion on a problem I'm having with Casablanca. I've deposited $20,000 with them since 9/26 for the 10% bonus ( I live in Vegas, that's my only incentive to bet there). When I called this morning to request a withdraw ( like I always do when I first join a book) I was told that I'd have to leave my deposit in for 30 days to get my bonus. I was never told this upfront! Dan says he told me that but I'll tell you what, if anyone can produce the tape of it I'll give them $2,000 (the amount of the bonus) Since 9/26 I've given them $35,000
in action and feel this is unfair. I could have posted up elsewhere as 90% of the books honor the bonus based on action. Also, if the requirement is 30 days, what's to stop someone from posting up, playing a few $50 parlays, wait the 30 days and collect? Or is there a money requirement + 30 days? This should be clearly outlined on their website
because at the vast majority of books the bonus is based on action. I'm a good customer, I'm not betting steam and beating them to numbers ( not that it should matter if I was) I mean I'm in there firing at the NFL, they should want me as a customer! I would appreciate the opinion of BW regulars as to if they feel this is right. Thanks for the feedback. Hoopsguy

PS how reputable is this book? Should I wait the 30 days and just not bet in the account while I wait? I'm at about 27k.

it seems reasonable to me if that fact is included in the terms and conditions posted on their website

the books have guard against players who only deposit for the bonus and then shut down the account

i have a book which gives you a free $100 play when signing up

i made the play on cleveland +12 and it pushed...they said that was my play and i don't get another one

does this seem reasonable...i didn't argue the point but i'm not going to throw much their way for the rest of football season

      azbob,

Since I don't know of any other books that offer are a free $100 parlay, I must convey my concern for your claim.

If in fact it is betmaker that you are speaking about, I want to insure you that there has been a mistake.

The free parlay works like any one of our other parlays--if you push a game, it turns into a 2-teamer.

If you did win the other two games, you should have won $260.

If it was not betmaker, please clarify.
If it was, please contact me and I'll have your account adjusted immediately and make sure that any similar mistakes are avoided in the future.

      Regards,

      Mike

Hoopsguy - I am the guy of kind who always looks for 10% intial deposit. Upon signing up with various shops this is normally the average deal. If you deposited $20,000 you obviously had $2000 credit. Total in your account is $22,000. Now, if you bet the whole $22,000 in one day (you win or lose) you are entitled of withdrawing the whole amount next day (including your credit). Bottom line is, you are entitled of withdrawing your money and credit if you played the whole amount you deposited. That is just simple fair and square.

Thanks Udog 7. I agree 100% I've given them 35,000 in action on my initial deposit of 20k during the 9 days I've been with them. Just how solid are these guys? I'm considering leaving the money in for the duration. To the heavy hitters out there who may have dealt with Casablanca (Reno ,Boomer, others)how would you feel about having 30-40,000 or more in there? Is there a amount at which you'd no longer be comfortable?

Hoopsguy - in my own personal opinion and basing it from experienced with different shops, there is no reason for them to hold your money in regardless if you bet the whole $20,000 or not. But since you are saying that you had already given them $35,000 in action then what they're doing is totally unacceptable. Besides, I haven't dealt with any shop putting me on hold for 30 days. That is a lot of non sense! Good luck anyways.

Azbob - If there was a push, I would say you deserve another chance. What book were you pertaining to? Caribbean or the other one?

Hoopsguy, I only started playing with Casablanca about 6 weeks ago. I don't know them well enough to feel comfortable having 35+ dimes there. There are several other books that I never worry about if I get a figure in that range, which I occasionally do. However, since I'm not an ultra-heavy hitter and I play with 20 books, I generally request pay-outs when I get around 15-25 dimes in most accounts.

I'm not a fan of Casablanca's online software, and I was pissed when they identified me as a wiseguy and started giving me different lines on the phone. However, when I bitched about it, they gave me the same lines as on the website. They do have some different numbers, and I plan on sticking with them as long as I can get the lines that I see on the website.

If I ran a sportsbook and offered, say, a 10%
sign-up bonus, my criteria for earning the bonus would be that players leave the money in for at least 30 days and bet the amount deposited. Since it seems to be a regular problem, sportsbooks should make a point to explicitly state what their policy is regarding sign-up bonuses.

Thanks for the response Reno. Which are the other books that you never worry about? I would guess CRIS, WWTS, and Skybook? How do you feel about Sports Market ( I'm considering sending them 25k)? Also, what's your opinion about Pinnacle and books in Curacao in general? Is it a safe environment?
